What does Kurt Metzger say grey aliens really are?

On The Joe Rogan Experience #2570, Kurt Metzger argued that grey aliens are not visitors but humans deformed in secret programmes. He traces the idea to the South African tokoloshe legend, which he learned from the shaman Credo Mutwa: small or disabled people were said to be bent and tortured until they believed they were supernatural beings. Metzger claims the CIA studied the practice, and he reads the four kinds of non-human intelligence David Grusch described as human-made. These are his opinions, and nothing found during the show confirmed the farms were real.

• Metzger links the idea to Annie Jacobsen's account that the Roswell bodies were deformed children sent by the Soviets.
• Joe Rogan called the theory a big stretch and doubted anyone could have engineered such pilots in 1947.
• Duncan Trussell noted that researchers already grow brain organoids from human cells inside mice, so the idea seemed less absurd to him.
