Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick came into the studio five days after winning the World Series and walked through how the team did it. He described a lineup built on Pat Murphy's demands: hit the ball to the opposite field on command, leave the first pitch alone unless you bat second through fourth, and trust that someone different will deliver each night. Frelick also covered his Game 2 home run, the nerves before Game 1, Brewers fans filling Tropicana Field, his choice of baseball over a Boston College football offer, and the charity work he does in Milwaukee. Big Cat, a Cubs fan, conceded the Brewers were simply better and rejected talk that they had cheated.
Football took the rest of the main show. The Bears beat the Super Bowl champion Seahawks 34-17 in Seattle, and Big Cat credited the trade for Jeffrey Simmons with turning a blitz-heavy defense into one that pressures without help. He called Caleb Williams a top-five quarterback and the Bears a Super Bowl contender, though he pushed back on PFT Commenter's Super Bowl-or-bust framing because the core is young. The hosts also mocked the first College Football Playoff rankings, especially Alabama at fifth, while agreeing that Notre Dame at 11th was right.
Around those segments sat shorter debates. Max explained Major League Baseball's proposal to delay a salary cap until 2028, the crew weighed Patrick Mahomes' record against winning teams, and Hot Seat Cool Throne covered LeBron James, the Wizards' start, Bill Belichick and Carl Bushby's 28-year walk around the world. Listener takes closed the episode on two-point tries, the Steelers' chances and tipping bartenders.
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder and newly crowned World Series champion who grew up in the Boston area. He was a three-sport high school athlete, played college baseball at Boston College and went 15th overall in the first round of the draft.
Sal Frelick said Pat Murphy requires every Brewers hitter to be able to hit a backside ground ball on command, especially with two strikes. Seeing the ball that deep lets a hitter sit on the fastball and still adjust to a curveball. Frelick said the Brewers were last or second-last in home runs but were very good with two outs and two strikes, and that first-pitch swings were mostly off-limits unless you batted second, third or fourth.
Sal Frelick committed to Boston College for baseball as a high school sophomore and later got a football offer from BC as well. His baseball coach told him a football scholarship would make football his first priority, and that he could play professional baseball. When no other school offered him for baseball, he chose baseball alone. Frelick said his baseball coach, not he, broke the news to football coach Steve Addazio.
Sal Frelick said his Game 2 home run was his third of the year and his first ever to center field. He hit it low and at first was willing it to drop in front of the center fielder, then watched him keep backing up until it cleared the fence. Frelick said he blacked out, shouted at the bullpen and rounded the bases quickly because he likes getting back to the dugout to celebrate.
Sal Frelick said Pat Murphy treats managing as a relationship job: running the clubhouse, the bullpen and pinch hitters without losing players. When they first met at Frelick's first spring training, Murphy was bench coach and told Frelick he was the video guy. Frelick asked him for at-bat videos for about a week until he saw Murphy in uniform writing the lineup. Frelick said Murphy loves college-style players who bunt, run the bases and defend.
Big Cat called the Bears' 34-17 Monday night win in Seattle one of the most impressive standalone road wins of the past five years. He credited Jeffrey Simmons for a defense that blitzed about 20% and still got pressure, and said Ben Johnson outcoached Mike Macdonald. Big Cat called the Bears a Super Bowl contender, but disputed PFT Commenter's Super Bowl-or-bust view because Caleb Williams and the roster are young.
The hosts read that Caleb Williams broke the NFL record with 36 straight games of at least 20 pass attempts and no more than one interception, passing Aaron Rodgers at 35. Big Cat added that Williams was the only quarterback to throw for over 200 yards against Seattle's defense this season, and said he would not trade Williams for any quarterback.
Big Cat said the committee made a mess of the first rankings but welcomed the debate, since Saturday's games would settle much of it. He called Alabama at fifth insane when Tennessee, which beat Alabama, sat 13th, and questioned Ohio State at 12 above a USC team that beat them. The one call he backed was Notre Dame at 11, which leaves the Irish needing to win against Miami.
Max explained that Major League Baseball proposed putting off a salary cap until 2028 while starting its other changes next season. He said the projection was a $258.2 million cap and a $180.2 million floor, and expected players to reject any 2028 cap. Zach noted the 12 teams below the floor would need to spend a combined $636 million to reach it. Big Cat said he refuses to believe there will be a lockout.

3:16Monday Night Football, Sal Freelick and the show. Also, Max is sick so he's not on the show after that but Max is here for the Zoom. But PFT, we're like, he's here, he's here. We were like, hey, the first college football rankings are coming out. Let's give the – we owe it to the fans to at least discuss them. And I'm going to say something. I think the committee did a great job. I think they did a great job. All right. Okay. And you love the 2014 playoff. No. Here, follow me on this. We are on the precipice Saturday of a monumental college football Saturday where a lot of this stuff is going to get figured out. So do I actually think the committee did a good job? No. They fucked a lot of shit up.
3:59But I appreciate the committee fucking shit up that will most likely get decided on the field so that we have something to talk about on a Tuesday night. So they basically gave us fodder where they're like, hey, you know what we should do? We should rank Alabama number five and Tennessee who dog walked Alabama 13. That makes sense. Oh, you know what we should do? We should rank Ohio State 12 and USC 20, both two lost teams, and USC just dog walked Ohio State. So none of it made sense. And I appreciate them giving us something to distract us from politics and whatever's going on and give us just some stupid college football debates when we know by Saturday, half of these debates are going to be decided. Well, what I like about it is that anytime that you can put a two-loss SEC team
4:50ahead of a zero-loss Big Ten team, you have to do it. You just got to do it. And if we're doing our political headlines, that masquerade as college football headlines, tonight there was no red wave. No. But there was a crimson tide. Yes. Yes. But there was a crimson tide. Yes. Yes. Alabama 5 is crazy. At 5, 5 is absolutely fucking insane that they put them at 5. And I think you're right. I think they did it just to get people pissed off, get people talking. Yeah, because here's why. It's crazy. I don't really understand it. Their logic. I heard Hunter Juracek's big head get on TV and start to flap his gums about what he thought. And basically, he's a punching bag. When Hunter Juracek is on your TV, he is on there.
5:33He's memorized the talking points. He's memorized the different – they always have different new slang terms for things that they evaluate differently every year. This year, it's the pods. The teams were placed into certain pods, like it's the love is blind experiment, and then you evaluate them based on the other teams in that cohort of the pods, which is why you don't have teams such as Ohio State and Indiana being evaluated head-to-head because they're not in the same pods to begin with. How can we know who's better? How can we know who's better, Ohio State or Indiana? If they were in the same pods, then we might be able to look at head-to-head. But since they're in separate pods, it doesn't work.
6:15With Alabama in particular, I think their entire reasoning was just that they beat Mississippi State. Well, and also that they were kind of injured against Georgia. I think that was pretty much it too. Like, oh yeah yeah they were kind of injured because it does make no sense otherwise and yeah here's where here's why like obviously I'm being tongue-in-cheek because it's a baffling rankings UCLA should be pissed Tennessee should be pissed USC should be pissed uh like there's a lot of people that should be pissed but again it's all going to get settled on the field in the next couple of weeks especially this saturday the only thing that they did that they did correctly was the mistake they made last year they fixed it
6:55notre dame at 11 was correct because notre dame they put notre dame at 11 remember this year is the year where if notre dame's in the top 12 they're in no matter what so there could be a a 20th ranked Boise a 12th ranked Notre Dame and that would mean the 10th and 11th ranked teams would not make the playoff which is crazy but that's just the new rule uh but they basically put Notre Dame at 11 and said you got to win on Saturday there's nothing that Notre Dame can do if they lose on on Saturday, they have nothing left. They have SMU just lost to Syracuse. They have nothing left to make up for it. Putting, if they had put them at seven, that would have been a problem. If they had put them at, you know, higher than that, where it's like,
7:37oh, if they lose to Miami, they could maybe drop to 12 and then they could fight their way back in. I think putting Notre Dame at 11 was the correct move. Everything else. They just basically were like, how can we piss people off and give them fodder? So I appreciate at least them doing that one thing correctly. Okay, so there's one other name that's jumping off the screen to me. I haven't really given this one that much thought. So maybe you can help me out and tell me what the rest of the schedule looks like for them. Wake Forest feels like they got fucked. Dude, Wake Forest is playing good football. Wake Forest is a good football team, and they've won a lot. They dominate inferior opponents.
8:11They haven't played anyone, though. That's the problem with Wake Forest. They haven't played anybody, but they're at 16. I don't know what the strength of record is. My guess is it's probably pretty good because they've shit-pumped the bad teams that they've played. So with them at 16 and Texas Tech at 15, if Wake, like Wake Forest, they're, are they going to win out? Well, if they, well, no. So they would have a chance to go to the ACC. If they win out, they're good. Well, if they go to the ACC championship game, they can get in by just beating Miami, which they did play Miami. Actually, North Carolina played Miami really tough. But up until North Carolina, they played, and Florida State did.
8:46Miami's got problems. I think Miami's going to be, but Wake Forest could win the ACC. They don't have, they have SMU still on their schedule. They have Georgia Tech and Duke. Georgia Tech's been god-awful. Duke has been up and down, but they're like overall not a terrible team. And Merrimack, so Fasoli's Merrimack, which I don't think that's going to help them much next weekend. But yeah, Wake Forest, but they at least have a path because they can win the ACC. They can find their way. Outside of that, it's going to be tough for them. 16 feels a little bit low, just off the top of my head for Wake Forest. Tennessee, you have a fair gripe, but again, Tennessee, you can do something about it. Yeah.
9:31No, Tennessee has a very fair gripe because they've lost two games by three points and lost to number one, Texas by three points. They lost at South Carolina, tough place to play by three points. Meanwhile, Alabama lost at home to Georgia and then got killed by Tennessee. How does that make any sense? I do not understand. Yeah. Yeah. They got, they got fucked big time. One small thing about the whole process with the committee. My favorite thing that they do is they go into the room and before they enter the room, they take their hats off at the door and they hang their hats up on the hat rack. The idea of being, once you enter this room, it's not about what team you represent. It's not about the school that you're from.
10:11You take your hat off and you go into that room and you do the work of the committee. My problem is the hat that they wear is the college football playoff committee hat. So they take off the playoff committee hat and then they hang that hat on the hat rack before they go into. They should take off. They got it all backwards like they've they've fucked up the entire meaning of the whole thing. Yeah, it also it was maybe funny the first year now that they're doing it and they know like there's nothing worse than a bunch of people who I think we all just hate because they just dig. They get in there and they make the dumbest decisions. It doesn't feel like they watch ball. They're, they're a little,
10:48they're leaning too much into it. You know, when they'll take the picture, when it, when it will be like the, the hummus tray and, and, and a bunch of vegetables and like six TVs that they wheeled into the, to the Marriott ballroom. And they'll take a picture and be like, look at us watching ball. I'm done with that. Shut up. Just fucking rank the teams correctly. I don't need the hat video. Just rank the teams correctly and realize that Tennessee played Alabama. Do you understand what I'm saying about the hat, though? Yeah, they took off the impartial hat for no reason. Yes, they're stupid as shit. That doesn't make any sense. But the video itself just pisses me off. When you're checking that on TV
11:28and he's like, oh, 6'7 last year. Right. Yeah, we don't need that. Shut up. You guys should... You know who I want doing this? I want dorks. I want dorks who know that they're dorks and they don't try to be cool. I want actual glasses. Kornacki should do it honestly just put kornacki in this and i trust him to do it he'd know what he's doing just get up on the big board just throw him around you don't have to watch khaki's going out there yeah what do you think about uh ucla being ranked at at eight i so i think you can go it's a non-answer I think you go either way I fully understand they have not played pretty much anyone Wisconsin that's yeah I mean Wisconsin's bad and Oregon is bad so they
12:14haven't really played anyone but I do think that that in a year where everyone is losing left and right and there's chaos every single weekend being undefeated should be rewarded so they were probably like i would have i think they should have probably been you know what if ucla was five and alabama was eight that probably would have been fine like that would have been a good spot for for both the teams you know like i do think being undefeated you should get credit winning all your games is hard especially in a big conference yes the schedule is not that tough but doesn't matter every you i mean georgia lost to auburn as a 20 point under as 20 point favorite you can lose to anyone any weekend we've learned that this this year so being undefeated should
12:56count for more than than what ucla got credit for i agree especially when you have two lost teams ahead of them that's just it doesn – it doesn't sit right with me. But overall, like I said, the big thing is they basically have told Notre Dame you have to win this weekend, and I do think Notre Dame is going to win this weekend, so I think it will solve itself. And Utah plays BYU. Utah's 3, BYU is 9. They play on Saturday. Alabama at 5, and LSU at 14. They play on Saturday. That would five and LSU at 14. They play on Saturday. That would be my only, like, it does feel. Yeah. When you, when you look at, when you look at Houston or sorry, when you look at Utah, Utah, I'd say their schedule is slightly more difficult than UCLA is this far,
13:40but it's not like they've played a great schedule either. I don't think it's even that much different. utah i mean going on there i mean the cincinnati game was pretty tough they had to play oklahoma state i want to say where does houston came to utah uh last weekend that i mean houston's a top 20 team houston that's that's the best one then they were at colorado they hosted kansas they went to iowa state utah state at Colorado. They hosted Kansas. They went to Iowa State, Utah State at home. They hosted Arkansas, and they hosted Idaho. That's not a great schedule, but I don't know. I feel like UCLA got fucked on this one. I think it's, yeah. I mean, I'm okay. I think they got fucked a little bit, but it's like we always knew that
14:22UCLA always kind of knew that they have to they can maybe take they can take one loss and that's probably it like because the schedule just isn't like it's not even their it's definitely not their fault because oregon has sucked like oregon has just been bad i you expected that to be a signature win oregon's a dog shit team i also think i i know they're the defending champions but I feel like I could take any team 6 through 14 that's Kentucky all the way through LSU and a neutral field against this Indiana team I think any one of those teams could beat Indiana I think Indiana could beat any one of those teams that's the beauty of Indiana. They, they, their defense, their defense is really good.
15:10But you say that they haven't looked great and they haven't, they're Nick Marsh away from being undefeated. Like Nick Marsh, having his foot out of bounds is, is what kept him from undefeated. And I, again, I think it's like winning the games. Like they, yeah, it has not looked pretty in their offense like I don't I don't think they're going to win the title again but I I would not I would take that defense against anyone in staying in games and they made the switch you know Josh Hoover's been injured but I yeah I still think Cignetti with that defense and his coaching I'd still take them against a lot of teams just because they just, they have a knack for it. They have a way to win. And I guess this is all trivial because it will,
15:52it's going to work its way out. Yeah. Yeah. But it's fun. It's fun. That's why I said, that's, that was my point from the beginning. I appreciate the committee giving us stupid fodder that will be completely irrelevant in a matter of like five days because really the big takeaway is Notre Dame has to win and Texas and Alabama are the two SEC teams that can probably get in with three losses that's what they've that's what they've told us with these rankings so all right anything else on college football i mean it feels like every weekend is just you know matt i mean the minnesota indiana game that was that game was just so insane the fact that there were two 60 yard kicks the indiana kicker is was like the worst kicker ever and then
16:39he's like yeah i'll just hit a 60 yarder and then usc, Lincoln Riley, that guy's got some problems. He wins that game and then immediately goes aggro on his entire fan base, being like, this win is for guys in here. He's basically, I think, just walking around constantly triggered right now, and he's got a big one against Indiana coming up. And, yeah, I mean, it's just fun. Like, every single weekend in college football has delivered this year. And Wisconsin stinks. I said I knew I was coming. I was I think it's like I think it's like 78 points in a row that I was scored on Wisconsin. It's bad. It's getting really bad. That's tough. It's really bad. That's tough. Because like Iowa, Iowa truly is that that is like the measuring stick for Wisconsin.
17:26Yeah, it's bad. All right. What else do we have? Anything? Does anyone understand the baseball thing that happened today? And we want to stab at it in like very broad strokes. Yeah, go for it. There was a proposal to not implement the salary cap until 2028, but do everything else that they want to do starting next season. Okay. So that would be a way to maybe meet in the middle and play baseball right away. Maybe not miss any games. Yeah. That's the, that's the idea that they're going for. And who does this take? Yeah, go ahead, Max MLB proposed it. God, I who does this take? Yeah, go ahead, Max. MLB proposed it. I think that this is like the very, very beginning of the negotiation because there's no way that the players would accept a 2028 salary cap.
18:17So it's like we'll give you everything else, but we want the 2028 cap, and then it's going to go just way further down the line from 2028. Yeah, so what happened was Major League Baseball proposed And then it's going to go just way further down the line from 2028. we had so i think the total that they um just projected today was a 258.2 million dollar cap and 180.2 million dollar floor so that is 13 million higher on the cap and nine million higher on the floor got it so we're gonna play baseball so they are it sounds like it sounds like they're talking okay they're having talks they're they're yes they haven't iced each other up it's good honestly my takeaway from this is this is a good development that we have okay i that's yeah i mean
19:20i'm i'm team there's not going to be a lockout because I just, I refuse to, I'm just going to live in blissful ignorance and just ignore the facts and the problems that exist in this world. I, I ask anyone who would like to join me, join me. It's fun. Like when the lockout is finally announced, I'm like, what, how, why, who saw this coming? That's my reaction. And if it doesn't happen i'm like told you guys what i do have one question about the lockout that i know no one actually maybe you can answer it what happens to the salaries that are already in place good question max so um players don't get paid in the offseason regardless. No. I'm talking about if there's a salary cap and Juan Soto's making $100 million a year,
20:15is that just the whole cap? The Mets are just fucked in 10 years? How do they retroactively put in salaries that were done pre-cap? Like Bryce Harper. The Phillies may have a couple guys, guys, and I'm wondering, can we just never sign anyone again? That's a, that's a good question. I think if there's, you can't, you can't punish a team for signing people to contracts before there was ever a rule in place about the salary cap. Oh, yeah, yeah. They'll figure out a grandfather. They'll figure out some way. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, that's why there might be a ton of free agency action like in the next couple of weeks before it happens because teams are like, let's just get it in. And then they'll figure it out later.
20:58Yeah. Okay, that could make the offseason a little fun. Yeah, no, I think there's – I thought you were asking about the actual paychecks. That's when we're going to have the rubber meet the road is when players start missing game checks and their salary that they get paid during the season and owners start missing ticket revenue. That's when... If they don't have a deal in place by that point, that will force them probably to get together and work something out. Yeah, it's become a game of chicken. Who can out-wasso? Zach? With the proposed floor, though, the 12 teams would have to spend a combined $636 million just to get to that 180 mark. Oh, you mean like the teams that aren't? Yeah. 12 teams under the current 180 that didn't spend that last year.
21:46So it's almost a billion dollars that would be pumped in. I bet there will be some owners that figure, like, this isn't for me. I need to sell my team because I don't want to spend that money. Which would be great. I wish there could just be a floor with no cap. That would be cool. That would be awesome. I don't think that's possible, but. Yeah. Feels like that would fix a that would be awesome i don't think that's possible but yeah feels like that would fix a lot of the problems just being like hey you have to spend more money for all the idiots who just don't spend money um yeah it's you know what they're not gonna lock out it's fine we're all good we're all good uh all right uh i think that's it Let's get to back in studio. Max, feel better.
22:26We call Max. I have one question for you, Big Cat. Yeah. If you are North Carolina State, who do you hire to be your head coach? Phillip Rivers or Russell Wilson? Because they're both getting luck. Yeah, so Phillip Rivers is, I think, is, like, not realistic, but, like, that one at least makes a little sense. Russell Wilson, this was just a gratuity interview, right? He hasn't coached. They're just doing it so that the next time he can be like, I've done this before. I've interviewed before. Yeah. Right? Did him a favor? Yeah. There's no way. Philip Rivers at least coaches, like coaches high school, doesn't he? Yeah. What about Trent Dilfer? Was he a coach before UAB hired him? Yeah, he was a high school coach.
23:15Like Deion was a high school coach before Jackson. And isn't Phillip Rivers' son? Which one? He's got 11. His son of isn't his son is a quarter you're gonna he's a freshman quarterback at nc state so that isn't it isn't that like the odds are yes i i don't know if that's true but he has so many kids that yes one of them is going to be the the nc state quarterback at some point quiggs told me that there's a they have a four-star like freshman who's philip river's son that eventually will be the starting quarterback of nc state so this is wow how'd they land him that he's he stays at nc state yeah i guess that would make sense that'd be funny for him to coach his son in a major college football conference.
24:09Quiggs is also a pathological liar and lies about everything. So that could just not be true at all. Wow. That's not pointed. He is. I disagree. He would lie about this? Yeah. Gunner Rivers, son of Phillip Rivers, commits to NC State four-star quarterback Gunnar Rivers. What did Quiggs lie to you about that got you so frustrated there, Max? That felt personal. It's not frustrating. If you know Quiggs well, he lies about everything and makes everything a bit, even though it's things that you wouldn't think of as a bit. Disgusting. We would never. This means nothing to the listener at all. It's just the five people that talk to Quiggs very regularly will know what I'm saying. Yeah, he's very sarcastic and turns everything into, like,
24:55some weird little behind-the-scenes ha-ha-ha. Sounds very exhausting. No, I think he's a pretty straight-up guy in my experience. So I think Max just intellectually can't understand Quigs. This is a pointless conversation we're having right now. How do we even start this conversation? That's true, that's true, that's true. You started it. All right, we're going to be back in the studio. We're going to talk some Monday Night Football. 27:5934-17. I don't know where you guys want to start. I mean, we start with Big Jeff. Big Jeff has changed my life. The Bears have gone from a defense that was very suspect, little pass rush, had to blitz a lot. I think Dennis Allen was blitzing it like close to 50% on Monday night. They blitzed 20%, still got pressure. Big Jeff is just a mammoth of a human being and it i couldn't take my eyes off well what's great on big jeff beforehand i think so yeah what's great is that okay with you yeah i was just curious okay is the orange sleeves well yeah it's for his daughter yeah the orange sleeves you're like i i have to watch that guy can't get my eyes off he looked awesome and then by him being on the field his mere presence presence made Montez Sweat have an awesome game too.
28:47Montez Sweat's best PED was Big Jeff. Yeah, he just needed a bigger Jeff in his life. It was crazy to watch because it's like the Bears' defense last year, the first seven weeks of this season, it was kind of the same thing where it's like Dennis Allen, I said this before, but Dennis Allen had that unit punching above their weight where they were playing okay they're playing good at times they're really elite on third down but the whole time i was like hey if a good offense plays this bears defense they can have us they could they are secondaries weak our pass rush is not there they can have us now with Big Jeff, like, white boy Rick, one of our guys here, said after the game, and I agree with him, he's like,
29:29I almost want Ryan Poles to call up the Titans and be like, here, take another first-round pick because it was that worth it. He's changed everything. You don't tip your opposing GM? Sometimes you put a little 20% on top of them. Five stars, Uber Eats, Tennessee Titans. Yeah, great job. Yeah, leave a nice review for them. It was awesome to watch that defense look legit. And then after the game, I liked it in the locker room when you had Montez sweat teaching big Jeff about the good, better, better, It was like when, when a Catholic guy brings his heathen friend to church, it was like, now you got to kneel. Now you got to stand up. You got to know all the moves. You get to cheer. And yeah, I mean,
30:03also big Jeff looks happy as hell, dude. He looks like he's like he's he's like freed of all the baggage that was behind him just a complete change of scenery complete change of vibes and the bears my question for you big cat is uh have you allowed yourself to have a realistic expectation for this team because i have a realistic expectation for this team i and i think it's that this win was so impressive that like you think back over the last five years the most impressive standalone wins against really good teams um it would be this has to be right up there yeah uh and since it's a road game i would think back to that uh the christmas day games when it was the ravens uh just butt fucking the texans and then i think also the chiefs fucked up the steelers that day
30:51i can't but like out this is a super bowl champion with a uh defensive genius head coach and what the bears did was went into their house which is the hardest place to play, especially at night, and beat them not only offensively, but beat them defensively and also fucked them up on special teams. Yeah. Before the game, when we were in the cave, I said that I – before the game started, I said, I think the Bears are a Super Bowl contending team. And I said all this before we even had a snap because I said I predicted the game that the Bears were going to win 28-24. I was off. I underrated the Bears' offense and underrated the Bears' defense. It was 34-17. I said if we win this game and do it convincingly, I think they can.
31:36And, like, yeah, I think they, like, are going to be in the Super Bowl. I think they're a Super Bowl team. Obviously anything can happen, but they are. There's no team that scares me in the nfl right now there isn't like i yes anything can happen in one game like you could just have games where shit doesn't go your way but i think the bears have everything the secondary is the only thing where it's like yes this is still a problem i think we had three times where there was a penalty and we all were like, oh, where's the penalty? And then it would just show a Bears cornerback literally yanking a Seattle Seahawks wide receiver to the ground. It's like, oh, yep, that's a penalty. But yeah, I don't know.
32:15They have everything. Like Jeffrey Simmons has made this defense a nasty, intimidating unit. And the offense is I'll take this offense versus anyone. Like they went into seattle and they had a 17 play drive to start the game it was right down their throat and hank i know you're disappointed because caleb williams did look good and you were expecting him to look bad because you kind of said like hey yeah we'll see how he looks against the seahawks defense he looked great he's the only only quarterback to have over 200 yards against the Seahawks defense this year yeah no Drake May struggled Patrick Mahomes struggled looked incredible the way that they're just like Ben Johnson is able to just get
32:55wide receivers open 20 yards in the middle of the field on every play it feels like it's it's it's unbelievable to watch and when they're not, Caleb Williams would make a hero play, that play where he almost got taken down and basically jumped out of the sack and then found Roma Dunze down the field. And the third and eight, that basically sealed the game because it did get a little hairy there for a second when it was like, I think we were up 10 and Colson Loveland fumbled. Seahawks score. It's a three-point game. It's like, got to answer now. Third and eight. And that Kalief Raymond screen where Darnell Wright's just running free and Kalief Raymond finds that tunnel and goes all the way down to the five.
33:38Like, that was incredible. I also thought that that goal line play where Caleb rushed back to the line of scrimm uh rushed back to the line of scrimmage and everybody on the line of scrimmage all the offensive linemen were saying hurry up everybody was doing the same thing at the same time and then they ran a variation and the they suckered the linebackers to come up to stop the run caleb boots out to the right easy touchdown pass that is um ben johnson just outcoached mike mcdonald yeah's all that is. And it was awesome to watch. Like, that type of shit, that's a really, really well put together, well coached team. And I do think you should at this point think Super Bowl or Bucs. You have to.
34:15But if you're a Packers fan listening to this, do the Packers have any argument to be like, hey, don't forget about us because we just beat the shit out of you? Well, it's Tyson Bajent. True. Yeah. No, and listen Tyson Bajent. It's Tyson Bajent, true. Yeah, no, and listen, the NFC North is the, I think the Bears are a Super Bowl contending team. I think they can win the Super Bowl this year, 100%. The next step is you got to win in the division because we haven't won in the division. We're 0-2 in the division, and the division's a gauntlet, and you got to go to, like, the Lions on Thanksgiving is going to be a really, really tough game. The schedule is still tough. It's not like I'm sitting here being like,
34:48the Bears are going to win every game for the rest of the season. But I don't see a game that we can't win. You know what I mean? Like, that's where it's changed now that the defense, now that Jeffrey Simmons is on the team, there's no game where I'm like, this team is going to have their way with us. I think we're going to be in every single game and i have so much trust in caleb williams now i mean he's a top five quarterback in the nfl and i don't i i know this is going to sound crazy and it's obviously very biased but i wouldn't trade him for any quarterback right now no uh gray zabel was in hell last night yeah what were you saying fucked up no i was gonna say I was going to say, I don't, I don't root against Caleb Williams.
35:26I think, you know, rooting against the quarterback, just cause like you guys had quarterbacks drafted in the same class is like a salty, salty bitch move. I'm happy for you. And I'm happy for, for bears fans and in the city of Chicago. Would you, would you agree that Caleb Williams is top five quarterback? Yes. He is playing out of this world. He's got a cannon for an arm. He doesn't, he can't get like, he gets out of sacks every single game. He is playing out of this world. He's got a cannon for an arm. He gets out of sacks every single game. He doesn't? And he commands the offense. He's a good leader. You see him on the sidelines getting one fired up. Oh, yeah. He's a great quarterback. There's nothing else you can really say.
35:56He's got a fucking rocket ship arm. Absolutely insane arm. He also doesn't turn the ball over. So he broke the record last night. He tried last night a couple times. There was a couple tip balls. One tip ball, yeah. So he broke the record last night. I think it's 35 games, 35 straight games where he's thrown for 200 yards, and here it is. Caleb Williams breaks the all-time NFL record with 35, 36 straight games with at least 20 pass attempts, no more than one interception. Aaron Rodgers had it at 35. That's pretty crazy. And he just, you know what the craziest part about it all? I still think he has like a level to go up. Like I really do. I think he just keeps getting better and better. He was so good that Troy Aikman didn't even have anything bad to say about him.
36:45Troy Aikman had to compliment him. I think we need a new rule. You know how we have the analytics pop up on the screen being like, go for it or punt. We need to have that same pop up after an announcer says, ooh, I would punt here. And then the team scores a touchdown because that fourth and inches at the 50 yard line, when he like watch one Ben Johnson game, dude. First drive, he's like, I would punt here. Then we scored. So we need a graphic that says, Troy said punt, and they got seven points. Troy's also feeling a little bit salty right from the get-go. You can see all over his face. Troy's not having a lot of fun up in the booth right now. We can put it that way. Well, he's just here so he doesn't get fined.
37:23Yeah. Do you agree with my statement, PFT, Caleb Williams' top five quarterback right now? I would have that way he's just here so he doesn't get fined yeah yeah do you agree with my statement pft kale williams top five quarterback right now i would have to go through the list but yeah that sounds right it sounds right to me i don't think that you can really argue that he's just been i mean he's played i mean four games he started and finished josh allen uh i would put him one joe burrow i would put him top five uh patrick mahomes you have to keep him in the top five as well. Who else is having a big season right now? I think that's right where Caleb Williams falls. I would put him right around four maybe.
37:54I'd put him ahead of Patrick Mahomes right now. What about five? Who's your top five? Give your five. We don't do five out of respect. Yeah, it's probably Jerry Goff. Okay. Jared's having a great season, too. Yeah, he is. Hey, Big Cat, congratulations on joining the club. What's the club? Beat the Seahawks. Yeah. True. True, that's a good club. Great club to be in. They're a really good defense. Yes, they have good quarterback play to beat them. Yeah, really good quarterback play to beat them. Yeah. So the Seahawks oh talking about them real quick i i still think they're a very good team i do think they need probably another weapon i was surprised a little bit i do you do you guys get the feeling because i i think this happens with sam donald even though
38:42he's won a super bowl and he's good you You could still have Sam Darnold games where you can almost tell right away, like, oh, he's not feeling it. Like the pressure is coming and he's not seeing it. It felt like it was one of those games for him last night where it's like he doesn't he doesn't feel comfortable at all. And I don't know why the Seahawks and this is maybe very reductive and stupid. And someone who watches the tape can be like, this is why, you idiot. I don't know why they didn't just be like, hey, let's just throw the ball at JSN 15 times tonight, even when he's covered and plays will happen, because we couldn't guard him. This year, the Seahawks offense is pretty much like Sam Darnall is going to get abused,
39:20and then will your defense be able to keep it close enough so that when he hits the jsn button on the bailout plays um that that will be enough to win the game if jsn has two touchdowns and 150 yards is that going to be enough to win the football game filling in the rest of the cracks with fuel goals and last night their defense was not nearly good enough to do that and uh it didn't work for him but yeah it does seem like that's the only real option that a.g barner's a good player but yeah i would say that the the seahawks they definitely need to add a piece yeah i think they probably will be looking at a piece that was they they look they don't look uh as intimidating as they did at least at the start of the year yeah um
39:59there's something that's a little bit off with them that was the other takeaway from last night is like i do think that the bears performance i don't want to say put the nfc on notice but i i feel like some of the other nfc teams there are some really good nfc teams again this is just because i think the bears are a super bowl contender doesn't mean it's going to be easy or that they can't lose in the playoffs or there's other teams that are really good but do you think the vikings the packers the seahawks uh the niners they're like all right we got to maybe ante up and fill another hole because of what the bears did with their defensive hole i do because i think that the bears right now at the start of the season and like leading up to the trade deadline they probably
40:41weren't regarded as a team that you have to prepare specifically to compete with and beat. They were looked at as being another good team in the NFC. They were a shootout team. Like, hey, if we can have a shootout, their defense is not good. Now if you're a contender in the NFC, you are thinking about that Bears defense and you're thinking about what they do and that is impacting your decision making. Big Jeff, man. I think that you should have the opinion and this is going to be. I think that you should have the opinion, and this is going to be great for listeners, you should have the opinion Super Bowl or bust. The team is good enough, the coaching staff is good enough, where you should be disappointed if this team doesn't win a Super Bowl.
41:17So I disagree with the or bust part because of how young Caleb is and Ben Johnson. So it's not like an all-in. We a lot of uh money coming off the cap next year like it's not an all-in like this is the end of the line we have to do everything super bowl yes but the or bust part it's not like next year it's bust you know what i mean like there's a ton of young guys and the way they bit ryan poles who deserves a ton of credit for, for like the point is to win championships. I know he said the, he made the joke about fuck your picks. The point is to win championships. He went all in with, with Jeffrey Simmons. I love the move because you're trying to win a super bowl, but I don't think it's like next year is not going to be like,
42:01Oh, everything's changing and everyone's gone. It's tough league. It is tough league. No, listen, we listen. I, I woke up this morning going to be like, oh, everything's changing and everyone's gone. It's a tough league. It is a tough league. No, listen. Listen, I woke up this morning also thinking about, like, with Lamar going on IR, there's a chance Ravens fans are thinking, hey, 2023 was our shot. Yeah. And that was it. Yeah, the window might be done. Dan Campbell, what does it say? Shane, tell us what you read because you spend a lot of time on the cap stuff. It's looking like a negative cap space next year. Oh, okay. That's not good. See, that's what I'm saying. Nothing's permanent in this league.
42:30And I would agree, by the way. I'm not disagreeing that the Bears are set up well because I think they're set up exceptionally well, more so than just about any team that's currently contending. I think that they do have what should be a big window, but you can't count on that. But the bus thing makes it seem like it's like the end of the line like you gotta go like the rams or super bowl or bus because matthew stafford might not play football next year i'm just saying it's okay to believe this is this team looks like they should win i'm 100 believing we're arguing semantics right now i'm saying the bust word makes no sense to me because i think that they're going to be competitive for a long runway that also i mean i think i'm probably thinking about all the different cuts and guys that could come
43:10off after next year it says 20 28 196 million cap so it looks like a bunch of people off the books yeah everybody off okay but yeah i did the the bus part is the only thing i disagree with i do think they should be like they're a full-blown Super Bowl contender. Again, no team scares me. What's the path to home field? How many games can you lose? We've got to start winning in the division. That's it. You've got to win in the division. We're 0-2 in the division right now. Have to win your division games. When's the next game? Is that Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving, Lions, and then we have Christmas Packers. Then we finish the season week 17 and 18 with a game. That's a gauntlet finish. Lions at home, Vikings on the road.
43:50Yeah, no, there's some really. We play the Jaguars. Yeah, after Thanksgiving. Bill's Packers, Lions, Vikings. Well, look at before that, too. It's Lions, Jaguars. You get one week with the Dolphins, and then it's a tough schedule. It's a tough league, man. Very tough league. It's a tough league. Have you looked into suites at the Super Bowl yet? Because I've heard some rumblings around this office. I have not looked into them other than a Google of how much they cost. I think that counts as looking into it. Yeah, for sure. Yeah, but they don't have them on TickPick yet. Right. I haven't put them in my cart. The reason that you know that they're not on TickPick is because you looked into them.
44:26Look, you got to plan. You got to always plan. Yeah, no matter what. I do that every year, too. Ben Johnson's planning. Super Bowl sweats. Nice job. It's like $700,000. He did spell sweets, S-W-E-E-T-S, and it pulled up desserts. I love that. Yeah, it was hell of a night. A couple of little extra things from that game last night. One, did you guys see the flyover before the game? Yeah, so what happened with the helicopter? I think there were Blackhawk helicopters. There were like four of them, and they flew right over the stadium, right over the hawk's nest. And they shot fireworks. They shot fireworks right into the dick of the helicopter. The last one. Damn. That could have been really, really bad.
45:09That could have been a flying guillotine that just landed in the hawk's nest. That was weird. It reminded me of that flyover that they had in South Africa. Remember, Hank, your cool throne? Yep. At the rugby game? Yeah, because you're a big aviation guy. And rugby guy. Yeah, double threat. But yeah, this thing, it did look like they were trying to shoot down that helicopter, which would have been, that would have been just disaster if that happened. And then secondly, I think it's past time for NFL fans and NFL teams to have an honest discussion about downing punts. That first punt that the Seahawks had was really dumb was so fucking stupid really dumb what the guy did and it happens all the time in the nfl yeah where you
45:52have a guy that's like running towards the goal line with all the momentum and guys don't understand to not well this guy didn't understand to not slide into the end zone um you get a lot of guys that like run parallel across the goal line with their feet on the goal line yep it seems like the stupidest thing ever that should be we should never see stuff like that happen that first one that he didn't even have to touch it it was coming backwards he didn't i we also had yeah the the probably the longest block punt ever we had the longest block punt that kind of kicked ass but when it comes to downing punts do we do we keep stats for down punts like i'm sure someone do special teams guys get credit for downing a punt yeah i guarantee someone has
46:31them right because that because how do you yeah like there's special teams awards right that's the only explanation i can think of of why this guy came sliding in out of nowhere because he's trying to fill up his stat sheet oh there we there we go. They do keep them. Okay. Austin McNamara, was that 2025? Also, shout out to DeAndre Swift. That was an old school, like, I think his longest run was seven yards. What was his final stat line? I think it was like 27 carries for 70 yards, but three touchdowns. You can't run on the Seahawks. You can't. But he just kept on running as hard as fuck. My non guy isn't even back. Yeah. He had 27 carries for 69 yards, three touchdowns. That's he is sore. Yeah.
47:15That's a sore guy today. The Bears, by the way, do you what do you think about this move? They stayed in Seattle last night to party. No, to throw some fish around. No, they the the one thing that makes me scary. stayed in Seattle last night. To party? No. To throw some fish around? No. The one thing that makes me scary, and when we do the preview, we can talk about it, but the one thing that makes me a little scared about this upcoming game against the Bucs. So the Bears stayed in Seattle to get rest and actually sleep and then came back on Tuesday. The only other time they did it was after the Sunday night football game against the Niners last year. Stayed an extra day, came back, and then dropped
47:49a dud at home against the Lions. I don't hate it. It sounds like you'd probably get more sleep that way. Yeah. And probably like recovery and yeah. Yeah, I don't hate that move at all actually. I know maybe it didn't work out the last time but... Because you'd have to think like if they left right after the game they would probably get home at what? Like seven. Yeah, like six. So no sleep. Yeah. Rather get the sleep and then fly back during the day. But it does burn a day of whatever you can do. So because some guys can't sleep on airplanes. What is it? What's the spread? Six. Yeah. I mean, I'm not overlooking the Bucks. Zach and I were doing a little Bucs-Bears talk. It basically comes down.
48:28I think the Bucs defense, I respect the hell out of them. I respect the hell out of the Bucs offensive line. It's can the Bucs complete passes. If they do, then it could be a game. Do you think that the Bears went to the team hotel and worked on anything related to the game plan right after that game was over? Ben Johnson 100% did. Do you think the team had that game was over. Ben Johnson 100% did. Do you think the team had any meetings afterwards? No, but Ben Johnson for sure did. I read that after Sunday night, Jaden went to the team facility, and he worked out until 3.30. Oh, wow. Yeah. What type of workout? I don't know. I don't know what you do that late. Does that mean he didn't play hard enough?
49:02I don't know. Still had gas in the tank? He was like, that first quarter quarter sucked i still got something left over my mom's got the key to the building we can get in it does gotta kind of be cool to be in the building by yourself just being able to well maybe he took like a big nap because it was a night game so he took like a wire took like a well no he like took a nap slept for like six hours during the day, and then it's like, yeah, he's not going to be able to sleep anyway, so he might as well work out, I guess. Yeah. I don't know. Going back to the facility after a game and working out, that... I don't know that I'd necessarily love that. But I always think... How far away is the facility not like at the stadium?
49:42No, no. So that's the thing. In D.C., it's like the facility is in Ashburn, Virginia. The stadium is in Landover, Maryland. But is it close to his house? I assume he probably lives near Ashburn. Yeah. So the facility is probably next to his house. But still, that's like, I would say, hour drive back from the stadium on Sunday, like counting for traffic. The one thing I'll say about, like one of the coolest underrated parts about being a professional athlete is probably that you can just go to your facility at any time and make someone work out with you. Yeah. Like, you could just say, if you're an NBA player, like, hey, meet me at the gym. I want you to rebound for me for the next hour. Meet me in Ashburn. I want you to rebound for me for the next hour meet me at the meet me in ashburn
50:25i want you to to catch a bunch of passes i'm gonna like you just go play catch yeah i mean we could technically do that with zach we should anytime anytime just let me know right i'm there uh i had a stat for you guys i wanted to throw out there just a kind of a hmm stat um and it's more something to be thinking about because we're halfway through the season this is where it's like you kind of know where everyone is you know you know what teams are good what teams are bad so you try to look for pockets where you can buy and sell different teams and the chiefs so the chiefs just lost two in a row. I do not think the sky is falling, but I do think the Chiefs are maybe a little overrated. The Chiefs have the Jets, Falcons, and Cardinals coming up.
51:11Then after that, so there's three games that seem winnable. Then after that, they have Bills, Rams, Bengals, 49ers. That's five games that are very difficult. The Chiefs, this stat came across my bills rams bangles patriots 49ers oh patriots 49ers okay so that's fine oh yeah sorry i missed that bills rams bangles patriots 49ers that's tough stretch tough stretch so next three games look very winnable right uh i got where i where i thought i bookmarked the stat i think think it is Patrick Mahomes is 2-8 against teams over 500 in his last 10. Something to just say, hmm. Is that a hmm for you guys? That is somewhat of a hmm. Mahomes is 2-8 in his last 10 games against teams with a winning record.
52:00He has thrown 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in those games with a 78.9 pass rating huh hmm hank huh i think they're gonna win the next three games so that would put them at what would their record be would they be nine and two eight and two and then maybe it's a sell high on them i have a uh i have an interesting stat right here if we're doing interesting stats. Yeah, let's go. This one also involves Patrick Mahomes. This is from an account. I think this is real stat, even though the account is called bot. Since week one of 2022, Josh, Allen's average rushing touchdowns are longer than Patrick Mahomes average passing touchdowns. Allen's average rushing touchdowns, 5.74 yards. Mahomes average passing touchdowns, 5.38 yards.
52:50That's interesting. That's more of a Josh Allen stat. Like, holy shit. This guy scores a lot of rushing touchdowns and is awesome. It's also a stat that the Chiefs don't know. Well, this is post, I guess, maybe at the end of Tyreek. So they haven't had a big deep threat. But, like, 10-yard, 20-yard, an average of five yards is so small for passing touchdowns. Yeah. I mean, they have no wide receivers right now. The average of five yards is so small for passing touchdowns. Yeah. I mean, they have no wide receivers right now. I'm just thinking out loud that the Chiefs, I know that they've earned the right for us not to be like, oh, they're frauds. But. I'm sorry. Just to clarify. Jason. Just to clarify... Adjacent?
53:41Just to clarify, that's air yards. On Mahomes' throws. Okay. So you have the touchdown to Emmitt... Yeah, yeah, yeah. That makes sense. That was a... That was like a 10-yard pass that went for 70 in the box score. Right. Like a swing pass. Yes, yes, yes. Check down. Just something to Like a swing pass. Yes. Yes. Yes. Check down. Just something to think about, Hank. Hmm. Hmm. Do we have... Hmm. Is it Super Bowl or bus for you, Hank? Fuck no. Oh, okay. We're young. Yeah, I think the young part is it's kind of... Yeah. Although we're like old. Oh. All right. Our roster is old. Okay, so which one is it? The front office is trying to figure out how to, because we don't have a lot of draft capital,
54:27how to, through trades or whatever, get a little bit of a younger roster. I think you have to be old to be or bust. I think it's like the Rams, the Niners. The young work counts. The Bills might be just because they've been knocking at the door. Yeah. If you're knocking at the door for almost a decade and you haven't done it, then you get into that territory. If you're just starting. What about the Niners? I said the Niners. Yeah. I think the Lions. Yeah. I think the Lions have to be because they've had the window. I don't know if I'd go that far. They've missed the window so far. They can't have Ben Johnson go farther than them this year. Or else it's or bust. I know. That's what I'm saying.
55:10If that happens two years in a row, it's or bust. I've been thinking more about the Vikings, too. They really got to trade for a quarterback. They have a defense that is so good. Yeah. And again, we touched on it briefly, but I think we need to put out an Amber Alert being like, hey, let's stop calling Kevin O'Connell a QB whisperer and an offensive guru. Because you can't do it for the last two years. The last two years have been bad. You just can't say that with how jj mccarthy situation went down and how this year has gone down offensively i think he gets stripped of his offensive guru title you just can't have it there's that and there's also the fact that sam darnold letting him get away yeah like that means that
55:57maybe like i know that was a little bit on the general manager who missed up to two weeks on paternity leave, but it has to be somewhat on Kevin O'Connell too for not standing up and be like, hey, I want this guy. We can win with this guy. Yeah, I have some friends that are Vikings fans. They texted me on Monday. They're like, you didn't go hard enough at Kevin O'Connell because they're frustrated because they see the defense. That's got to be very frustrating. I did hear that Glenn is working very hard on fixing the Vikings offense. Very hard. Okay. And I've heard that he might have some very fresh ideas. Okay. Just something to keep your eye on. I like that a lot. Watch this space for more.
56:33So Glenn's not going to be talking about Drake May this week. That's a big misconception. Glenn doesn't always talk about Drake May. That's true. Sometimes he talks about Hank's golf game. He does. That's true. He dabbles in golf, and he also roasted Jaden Daniels at one time. So Glenn calls him as he sees him. That's just a fact. And also, I know he's hard at work on that album that's coming out. Listen, I am. I heard some behind-the-scenes stuff. Maybe an internet invitational breakdown. He just got the feature back for the very special guest artist on the album. And it's something special. I am a Glent. Arian Foster? No. No. Way bigger than Arian Foster. I'm a Glentelman until the day I die.
57:15If there's 10 Glentelman on earth, I'm one of them. There's one. I'm one of them. If there's zero,'m dead it's man man feature a man feature what do you know about that hank not much it's a man no you wouldn't i feel like you don't like that i called him big jeff no i just wasn't sure where that came from when When I hear Big Jeff, I don't know why. I was just thinking Saturday. Well, part of it is that the big mic that Stephen Shea does has been stuck in my head, so now I've just converted to Big Jeff. Dude, there's nothing like pressure up the middle. Yeah. You know what I'm saying, Hank? Yeah. Just pressure up the middle. When you're just sitting in a QB's lap. Nowhere to go. They got nowhere to go.
58:04By the way, I also really like that design on the trick play that Ben Johnson had last night where Caleb started in the slot. Yep. And then came back, took the pitch back, just completely designed to make sure that he has a clean pocket to throw from on that play while also pulling the line the linebackers up that's a great play i don't know why more teams don't run that seems like that should work just about every time he just does he just completely ben johnson pulled his testicles out and he made mike mcdonald wear them like a ski mask last night it was it was that much of a beat down where now i almost have to put the amber alert out and put his uh defensive guru oh tag like it's on the watch list oh shit a defensive guru
58:51does not get emasculated like that in his own house in his own house in his own house i'm sure he'll figure out a way to bounce back from the seahawks Will be great for the rest of the season Last night was just As good of a road win In a standalone spot that I can remember Seeing in like five years And now the NFC Like wild card The NFC playoff picture It's basically the NFC East The NFC South winners And then there are seven teams For five spots It's the entire NFC East, the NFC South winners, and then there are seven teams for five spots. It's the entire NFC North, and then the Niners, Seahawks, and Rams. There's going to be a good football team that's left out. It's going to be. I think it's going to be the Rams.
59:36I think it's got to be the Rams at this point. But there's going to be two good football teams that are left out. There's five spots for seven teams. Yeah. If you want to count all the NFC North and then those three NFC West teams. We'll see. That's why they play the games. Okay. Should we do hot seat, cool, thrown, and then get to our awesome interview with Sal Freelick. Hot seat, cool, thrown. By the way, Max out. Well, I guess he might have been here for the Zoom portion of the show, but he's sick. Zach has gotten the whole podcast sick. Yeah. So I thought I played. I thought I played it well. You did. Actually, you played it really well. Sick happens. What are you going to do? Okay. Hot Seat Cool Throne.

1:01:52Orders must be $200 or more to apply. That's PMT20 at checkout for $20 off your first order. Henry, hot seat, cool throne. My hot seat's LeBron. Yeah, that's... I added two. Alcoholic. LeWine. Booze bag. He was in the middle of the game ripping full glasses of wine. Stealing, too. He's a thief. Yeah. Thief and an alcoholic. And didn't receive consent? Yeah. He's a thief. He's an alcoholic. He went into the stands. He probably had... It still exists. He had the shake so bad on the sidelines he he spotted someone drinking wine he ran to them took the wine out of their hands super spreader event chugged it it was that so that was bad and then also i don't know if you saw jason tatum what he did also a super spreader
1:02:36he was leaving the court last night and he smacked over the hand sanitation station knocked it on the ground why did you do that because they lost because he wants people to He was leaving the court last night, and he smacked over the hand sanitation station. Knocked it on the ground. Why'd he do that? Because he wants people to get sick. Who'd they lose to? The Rockets. Paul George didn't play. Second night of a back-to-back. Marcus Smart. Marcus Smart double birded his own fans. Okay. It was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. Wait, who is that that is that baylor shireman that that picked up the cold ass is it a cold ass white boy yeah yeah let's see so tatum smacks it over baylor shireman says that's not today we're gonna i'm
1:03:13here to save lives question can i ask a question yep hank can I ask you a question? Yeah. Because I know that PFT is a humble guy he doesn't want to bring up something just that doesn't make sense to this conversation. Are you getting nervous about the Washington Wizards looking pretty I'll say competent? Yeah they look decent. I've been watching them NBA like I mean it's I told you they'd look like halfway. Are you feeling a little nervous? The East is stacked. NBA season doesn't really ramp up until after Christmas. I agree. But they're looking confident. They are on the radar. I agree. No bet is easy. There's no such thing as a free, lock, no sweat bet. You make a bet, no matter how as a free, lock, no sweat bet.
1:04:05You make a bet, no matter how easy you think it is, you're going to have to sweat it out a little bit. That's true. I'm not there yet, but I'm monitoring it. They got a good team. The good news is the East is fucking stacked. It is good. They could get a nine seed. I don't want to. No, eight. I know. Yep. They could be good. We need can't. They could get a nine seed. I don't want to. No. Eight. I know. Yeah. Well, like they could be good. You have to get an eight, right? Yeah. They could be good. And you can't get an eight through winning the play. No. Have to regular season. End of regular season. They could be competent, look good, win some tough games, and still get a nine seed. Because the East is so stacked.
1:04:35I'm not trying to do the we should be thing with our record. But I do think that. Here it comes. No. I'm saying looking forward, there's room to think that we should be thing with our record um but i do think that here it comes i know i'm saying looking forward there's room to think that we can even improve by figuring out the rotation because our coach keith has made some questionable rotation decisions and given up massive massive leads in the fourth quarter of uh at least two i think maybe three but i know definitely two games where we had uh 15 or 20 point leads late in the game and then just completely fucked up the rotation because we're not used to having these guys play together um and then kind of choked those away at the end i'm not saying that
1:05:11we should have won those games because we didn't we got beat uh but i say that there's there is room even for that team to get better and there there's so many fucking hilarious insult stats for the Wizards that we're going to be going through as the season goes on and we look maybe competent. Here's a couple that I've just picked off over the last two days. You weren't even going to bring it up. No. I wasn't. I got you. The Wizards have a winning record past October for the first time since November 28, 2022. That's crazy. That's a pretty good one right there um the washington wizards have reached three wins before december for the first time since 2023 that's before december before december three yes so for the first time
1:05:55in three years that's different yeah that's it's different it's different it's different i'm telling you and these stats different you're going to see more of them come out, and you'll realize just how bad we've been. And I feel completely exonerated for not spending a single emotional cent on these Wizards teams until we hired Winger and Dawkins. And now I'm back in. They held the Magic to 94 points last night. Washington has now held its opponents to under 100 points in back-to-back games for the first time since 2022. Let's go. So the defense is like, the defense is good. These are all good stats for the Wizards this year, but it also, every single one of them should serve as a reminder for how bad they have been.
1:06:38When's your next trip to the wood? Don't know. We gave away this Wednesday's tickets to an AWL. Nice. Yeah. So it's a guy that's going to be taking his kid, right, Zach? Hell yeah. Yeah, he's an eight-time AWO, and he's taking his eight-year-old son to the game. Let's go. Love that. So I hope your eight-year-old son can see over the giant assistant coach that's going to be in front of you. Patrick Ewing. No, it's not Patrick Ewing. Well, he's also giant, but there's another, like there's a giant French like six-foot or seven-foot guy. So nerve levels? Non-existent until Christmas. Okay. I think that's fair. Just attacking hand sanitizers, just not worried about the whiz. Yeah. Okay. I think that's fair.
1:07:16All right. What's your cool throw? My cool throw is just football guys. Why? just caring about football you know we're football guy podcast yeah football guys guys yeah don't care about the gossipy bullshit nonsense uh and that's like the core of the show bill belichick just kind of you know cemented himself as an all-time football guy once again. Some more details came about the relationship with him and Jordan and how he was basically at a fork in the road between getting more serious, maybe getting engaged and taking the next step with the relationship. But he needed to be more focused on football, and he went with football. He chose football over Jordan. That had to break him up. Because that's like, that's a hard, Jordan's our queen.
1:08:05I do think that Jordan's the type of woman that would say, you know what, Bill, you're right. That's your true love. And I'll always be playing second fiddle. And I understand it and I respect it. And then she comes back and is like, I'll just stay in the background. Yeah. Like you made the right choice. Yeah. I actually tested you. She seems emotionally mature, so she'd probably be like, if you love something, set it free. If it was meant to be, it'll come back one day. Oh, they're close friends, and they're committed to their partnership. Is he still going to cheerleading events and competitions? I don't know. So, wait, Belichick might just be doing No Nut November. It's been like a year.
1:08:40Oh. He also snapped at a reporter when asked about it. I also saw in that press conference, the meanest thing that Belichick can say about a team is he said that Miami does what they do, and they just kept on doing what they do. Basically saying it's not imaginative. That quote alone makes me love Notre Dame. I was thinking the same thing. They do what they do is such a mean thing. It seemed like he was saying we could have stopped them if we had their players. If we had their players, we would have beat the fuck out of them. Yeah, they're not out-scheming anyone. They do what they do. Yeah. You know what? I think the relationship between Bill and Jordan might have just evolved into being strictly physical.
1:09:18They might be friends with benefits, and that's it. Yeah. They fuck. Alpha. They fuck, and with benefits, and that's it. Yeah. Like, they fuck. Alpha. They fuck, and then, all right, see you later. I got work early tomorrow. You got to go. I think that's kind of what Bill's doing now. Yeah, as he should. All right, PFT, hot sequel to Raw. Let's see. Hot seat is part of my take geography. Uh-oh. We screwed up on Sunday's show. Uh-oh. Hand up. We went back and forth a few times about where Jacksonville was playing their game. Was it Orlando? No, they were playing in Jacksonville. Oh, so then why did... Jacob. Bad job, Jacob. He texted us in the middle of that conversation saying that it was Orlando.
1:10:00You can't fuck those things up for Jacob. He's going to take this very seriously. Yeah, I believe. I wonder where he was when he texted that. Do you think he was shirt off in the planet fitness gym? It might have been. Now, I might also get Jacob in here. I might also be wrong about this right now because Chaps told me that the game was in Jacksonville. Okay. And so maybe Chaps got it wrong i thought the stadium looked a little different well they took out they've taken out a lot of the seats because they're doing renovations the 300 levels are under construction yeah and it was the first game they're playing there and then they're doing like eight games on the road listen i so it was in jacksonville i want it very clear jacob's not actually in trouble. And I think Jacob does an awesome job and he works very hard.
1:10:43But that is kind of a wild move to send a text to the group because our guys, Shane, Jacob, Colton, Dom, they all are listening to the show live while we're doing it so they can make cuts and clips and stuff. So that's a wild move in the middle of us taping i'm sorry to send us a text message correction on the group thread and also jacob and have it be wrong you're you went to gainesville you went to florida i did that's why i thought that i deep in my heart i thought they were playing in orlando because what about on google it's hard to argue with google i well i did i did throw in a quick Google. I said, are the Jaguars playing in Orlando? But we should have... And the AI overview said yes.
1:11:29He doesn't have... Yeah, he doesn't use the AI. He just uses his heart. Where did they play this week? Where did the Jags play? It says Everbank Stadium. Now, Jacob, follow-up question. Were you topless doing curls while you were listening to this? I was topless. I wasn't doing curls. What were you doing? It's 11.30 at night on a Sunday. There's nobody here except the souls in this studio. What exercise were you doing at the time? Like, when you sent the text message, what were you doing? I was in between things because I looked on my phone and I Googled it and my Google was wrong. Got it. I'm sorry to the AWLs. I fucked up. Your heart was wrong. My heart was wrong. Actually, no. I don't know.
1:12:11I don't want you to say that. Your heart's never wrong, Jacob. Thanks, P.F. Google was wrong. I'm really disappointed in myself. I would like you to continue working out shirtless on Sunday nights. Okay. I do. You're getting better. Planet Fitness, that's the whole reason we have it there. We're all getting stronger. Shout out Planet Fitness. I want it to be clear that I would never take my shirt off in that manner if it were like any fuller in this office or a reasonable hour. Yeah. But there's nobody here but us in security. Why, because you don't want people to get horny? Maybe. Yeah. I do. Show Nicky Smokes what a real man looks like looks usually i have a usually i wear a beater or tank top but i need to do laundry so the hank went to take a
1:12:51piss and he came back and he's just like you got to go out there and see what's happening in the gym i heard that on the hot mic and i kind of it kind of hurt my feelings because you did kind of hide when i came out jacob it was like i it's it's midnight like it was so late i went to go take a piss and i just like saw a what i thought was like a naked man out of the half naked just doing pull downs i was like what the and then i saw that it was you but it was it was it's just not what you expected to see but now we do expect now night now if i if i you expected to see at midnight. Now if I go take a piss at midnight on a Sunday and I don't see you there, I'll be upset. Okay. Is Beater acceptable?
1:13:30Yeah, that's fine. All right, cool. And let's just, when we text on the group, let's make sure it's right. I'm sorry. I Googled and I thought the Google was right. I was wrong. I'll be more clear. You don't necessarily have to apologize to us. I feel bad because we have now joined the national media discourse of disrespecting the Jacksonville Jaguars. Yeah. And that's not where I want to be. I want to respect. I think we should all take some time maybe every Friday or Monday recap episode to just make sure that we jag off real quick. We respect the Jaguars. Cause I do think that they are a legitimate Superbowl contender. And I think that Trevor Lawrence should be getting more discussion as being
1:14:08the MVP, considering he hasn't played for like 11%. That was one of my, that was my cool term. Jaguars games, right? Yeah. So my cool drone was going to be the Trevor Lawrence in the last 15 games. He's been pulled early in eight of them, and he hasn't played 89 minutes. That shouldn't happen in the NFL. Yeah, it's crazy. And I think their last 17 games, they might be 14 and three. Yeah. We need to do a better job of respecting the Jaguars. So that's why I want to bring that up, Jacob. This is also an insult stat for the teams they played. It was the Titans twice, the Colts twice, the Browns, the Chargers, the Jets, the Patriots. Pretty bad teams. We've got to find out how involved Yudinsky is.
1:15:03Just for those who might be looking for a coach. Okay. I just want to know. Are you doing that for Shane? For research purposes. It could be for anybody. I've missed the first part of that. We're looking at Udinski. Are you looking for Udinski? I'm looking for anyone who can call an offensive play. Memes, what do you mean you need to find out how involved? He doesn't call the plays. Liam Cohen calls plays. Right. So you got to see, like, is Udinski drawing him up? Yeah, how involved? Is he actually a whiz kid? Okay. Is Cohen a Udinski merchant? Yeah. I'm going to say it. He's too tall to be a whiz kid. He's 6'3", 240. That's not whiz kid. Yeah, that's a big boy. He might be a whiz man. He's wizarding. A 240. That's not Wizkid. Yeah, that's a big boy. He might be a Wiz man. He's bizarded.
1:15:43A lot of that going around. Wizkid, you got to be. Their GM is a Wizkid. The Jaguars GM. Oh, yeah, for sure. That's a Wizkid. Maybe even Hot. You know what? Yudinsky might be Hotshot. Yeah. Yeah, he could be. Hotshot or maybe Mad Scientist. Big man on campus. Maybe Mad Scientist. Yeah. Okay. Your cool throne? My cool throne. I got two cool thrones. One is I will be at LSU in Baton Rouge on Friday. Pup Punk. We're at my lifelong dream opening up for Shaq at Fred's. I'm excited about that. Might have some special guests there. It should be a good time. So if you're in Baton Rouge, come out, hang out with myself, Roan, Robbie, Frankie, Caroline, Nick. nick we're gonna have a good time it's gonna be
1:16:23a fun night and fred's is always fred's is like the best place on earth so if you're at lsu you already know that and uh alabama weekend so we will see you guys on friday night hell yeah very much looking forward to it and then um my other cool throne the lowman trophy i do have the watch list for the nation's top collegiate fullbacks, and they are thus Kemper Hodges at Air Force, Vic Lestori, Navy, Leo Kemp at Bowling Green, A.J. Peterson, Iowa State, Stroman Bridges at Army. Oh, I liked him. Mason Hayes at Air Force, Jake Rendina at Army. His nickname is apparently America's fullback. Andrew Gustad from South Dakota State. And Luke Cocat at North Dakota State. That's the watch list right now.
1:17:11None of that is binding, but those are the guys that we're looking at at this point. And we'll see if the final winner comes from that list or not. Air Force puts up points. Air Force puts up points. Air Force puts up points, and they also have – one of their guys is like technically – he was like an emergency quarterback last year, so he played quarterback, but he's really a fullback, so he's gone back to being a fullback from quarterback because that's what he wants to do, and that's like the most fullback thing ever. Yeah, by far. And he's probably going to get to fly an A-10 Warthog, which is the fullback of planes. We all my hot seats uh i get two is uh nba uh twitter accounts because we were talking about it before but worldwide wab has retired from he's retired
1:17:57from the internet memes. Yeah. He said he's burned out. So people who don't know worldwide, Bob, he was, uh, he, he was one of those guys. He watched every NBA game, put out a lot of funny tweets would basically be on top of every big moment. Now he's just gone. He just walked away. The Nick, he's a diehard Knicks fan. Knicks won the title. He said, my watch has ended and he walked away. That's, that's a cool move. He was a one-man red zone for basketball yeah for like a decade that's nuts uh so i read that his uh his personal account is still online but the basketball stuff like the keeping up with all the games he's taken a step back from i don't know you could just walk away from it yeah he'll be back you have to think
1:18:39he'll be back right memes i don't know he said he dedicated his life And he's just walking away I like credit to him it's like Barry Sanders I always treat yeah I treat the internet And doing this job like it's like the mafia You either end up in prison or dead Yeah You can't just retire He's gotta be back I feel like he's going to at some point Yeah he'll be back My other hot seat is back. I feel like he's going to at some point. Yeah, he'll be back. My other hot seat is Gardner Minshew because he's named the starter. That's not good for him. Who do they got this weekend? Who do they have this weekend? That's not good, though. Gardner Minshew, the minute he needs to name the starter, things go south.
1:19:17You need to keep him as just a... You actually should honestly put him in a glass case with an axe that you can break whenever you need like some quick instant offense he could be technically not the start what i would do if i if i was la flores i would either have uh brissette or maybe maybe even carson beck start And then after one series, put in Minshew. At the Seahawks. Zach is struggling trying to find the schedule. At the Seahawks? That's not good. He even went to the Seahawks schedule. That's not good. Now he's going, Zach, this is. I was trying to get his here. Yeah, they go at Seahawks, Rams, at Chiefs. That feels mean to gardener then everyone's gonna say oh gardener minshu stinks no he doesn't he just should be a backup but then again this is
1:20:08just going to preserve our image of gardener minshu which is like you got to be very careful with him yeah also jacoby brissett is that the most successful holdout of all time yeah he just he he he didn't no he's not good actually i don't i i think he should have held out for more i guess he could have got the deal if they gave him that he could have gotten another couple million what are you oh my god j-a-k-o-b-e this is people are saying he could be a raven yeah Tyson Bajan possibly too Jacoby Zach what's going through your head right now names are like unique you know that's that's that's going through my head yeah and in previously on the search I had the I had the game up and then we got hit with a tweet
1:20:54that shouldn't have been up so I had to evacuate so you guys caught me an evacuation plan a second ago that's what that was you in an evacuation plan a second ago. That was you in an evacuation plan? It was necessary. We don't have to say why, but it was. It does feel mean to throw Gardner up there. Although he's got ties to the area. Yeah. Washington State, right? Yeah. It's really mean. It's also very far away from Seattle. It's very mean. Also, my cool throne is Stella Blue Coffee because we have the Golden Mug giveaway. It's back. Eight lucky winners are going to win big prizes. It's now through Friday. If you buy anything at StellaBlueCoffee.com, you get a chance to win. We have a bunch of different prizes.
1:21:36We're going to pick which one you win. PlayStation 5, Xbox, Ninja, Expresso Machine, large Blackstone griddle, Nintendo Switch. On and on it goes. Ten different winners. And it's going to be awesome. So please go buy some coffee at StellaBlueCoffee.com. If you buy the ready-to-drink cans, you get ten entries. And we're trying to save 1,000 dogs this year. So we're trying to save 1,000 dogs. Paws Chicago, they just actually opened up their new facility they opened up basically a farm where dogs can go and uh rehab and and uh before they get adopted it's so sick and if you're buying cell blue coffee it's helping to fund stuff like the Rescue Ranch, where dogs, nothing better than a dog just in like a big field, you know?
1:22:24A happy rescue dog in a big field. So go buy StellaBlueCoffee.com and get a chance to win something with our golden mug. All right, Zach. My hot seat this week is going to be the 49ers, because Brandon Aik has teamed up with Drew Rosenbaum. Drew Rosenhaus. Rosenhaus, my bad. Okay. I Drew Rosenbaum. Drew Rosenhaus. Rosenhaus, my bad. Okay. I'm flustered. I'm sorry. What's going on today? Is it because you're in the middle seat? Yeah, the middle. It is if we're just being transparent. I know it's next man up, but it lasts like eight minutes. A little flustered, but we're good. Yeah. Drew Rosenbaum's a doctor. Okay. Shout out to the doctors out there. Doctors are important. The FBI has confused a bomb for a house
1:23:04several times. That is true. Alright. So you think it's going to be back in the league? If you're the Seahawks, why wouldn't you take him, right? He's good. Hasn't played in like two years. You want him? You want him? You want him? We have no one. I would love if you got Brandon Ayuk. I don't, but we have no one. Wow. You got A.J. Brown. Maybe. Oh, you don't think that they're good with A.J.? I get it. They're better without A.J. No, we're... I've heard that. What? We need him to play. Yeah, that's a big part of it. And the details are murky. What do you mean? There's just no, like, concrete timetable. Just like, we're going to see how he looks. Yeah, I was telling Hank that I was reading an article
1:23:57regrading the trade between the Patriots and the Eagles, and the Patriots got a D on the A.J. Brown trade, and the Eagles got a C. So they're just like, everything sucks, which doesn't make any sense at all. That's impossible. That's just a hater. That's just a hater writing that. I'll stand up for you on that one, Hank. Oh, I see this today. Jalen Brown names Tyrese Maxey as Sixers leader. That, oh, man, I wish Max was here right now. Like officially? Passing the torch? I'm gonna call him That's Shaded LeBron Yeah, big time That's big time Shaded LeBron Well, you can't have your leader be drunk No But that's, yeah That's a subtweet to LeBron Yeah Do you guys not agree? No, I would agree I'd be like Hank being like, Max is our leader.
1:24:45Hello? We need a comment. I hope you're feeling better. Jalen Brown names Tyrese Maxey as Sixers leader. Yes. That's a subtweet to LeBron and Embiid. Do you guys see that the vibes are so high with the Sixers team that you're trying, that you're grasping at any single straw to bring them down? You actually sound like shit. I just had a doctor swim and I have the flu. Oh, you didn't get a flu shot? Did not get a flu shot. Damn. I'm taking meds today, though. The doctor said I'll be fine by thursday okay great but this is this is concerning this feels like a sub tweet no it's not concerning you think it's concerning what do you think about lebron stealing somebody's alcohol concerns i'm waiting for you to
1:25:32call lebron an alcoholic i'm prepared we would never already did yeah we already did that and a thief a thief you guys are getting all of your you you can try anything you want but nothing will bring down the vibes of the sixers team right now if there was less lebrons in the world maybe you would be healthy right now the flu is uh something that can be easily passed from person to person lebron basically did that that's fair then you know what that's a fair yes yeah yeah so you can blame your sickness on LeBron. Who is... All right. When you lay in bed tonight and you feel like shit, be like, damn it, LeBron did this to me, and the worst part is he's not even the leader of my team. That's...
1:26:13Yeah. I'm sure you can do it. Max, you tell me what the difference is between LeBron James getting everybody in Philadelphia sick and Rudy Gobert getting the entire world sick with COVID. I couldn't hear what PFT said at all. He said... It was a great point. Yeah, it was a great point. Yeah, it was a great point. You just got bodied. Great point, PFT. I guess you bodied me. Okay. That's a tough one to do. This isn't even fun to fight with him right now. Get well soon, Max. All right, get well soon, Max. All right, bye. Okay, bye. But yeah, Jalen Brown, him not giving it to LeBron is like after that display last night. Yeah. He did that on purpose. All right, I did, I will say, LeBron, I would never say this in front of Max.
1:26:59LeBron, twerking was kind of funny. I will also say that the Philadelphia 76ers are just really fucking amazing right now. Like they are, I would be worried about them right now. Although the Bulls are atrociously bad. Really bad basketball team. Yeah, there's LeBron twerking. Twerked on it. All right, did you do your cool throw? No. You got sidebarred. I right, did you do your cool throw? No. You got sidebarred. I can cool throw if you need me to. But other hot seats, super quick, since we're talking, Jalen Brown, buy a $20,000 toilet doesn't work. Oh. He's not good with his money. Wait, what do you mean it doesn't work? He did his damn hair. On Hurley's? That was $4,000, and it was also pissed in by Gino Auriemma.
1:27:41Hank, I'm sensing some vibes coming from you. I think it's a combo of the fact that Caleb had over 200 yards passing. I'm happy. I was happy. I was happy watching that with a smile on my face for my city. You don't want this urinal to work in our studio. No. Why? You're not sensing that. I said that, and I'll say it again. If there's a urinal right here and we could piss in it, what is the problem? You need separation of church and state. No, Hank, you have two options because if there's no urinal, Big Cat's going to— Don't piss where you pod. He's going to piss in the sink. That's the age-old saying. Would you rather have him just pee into a sink that people want to hand him? All right, fine.
1:28:27We have a trough. I'll put it up to a vote. Who does not want the urinal in a fully operational, by the way, I'm not saying put the urinal in. It's, like, gross. I'm saying it can flush. Zach's going to put ice in it every single day. Who wants the urinal or who doesn't want the urinal in the studio hank is the only vote yeah thank you my back i appreciate it i'm not gonna use it that often you're just voting against convenience right yeah and also it's a talking piece sal freelick walks in and be like hey you check out our urinal it's right here you want to piss we could probably see a bunch of athletes cocks not that we'd want to but we could already do that you already do that what do you mean you walk people around you go hey you want some ice cream
1:29:11hey you want to come pee in the trough yeah so now now you want another no because hey hank you talking point like you already have one prove my point because when we do a tour of the like office it wasn't awkward the first time when i like asked you to pee in front of me i'm gonna do it again when but this time in a podcast i don't ask them to pee in front of me i actually say we have the trough if you'd like to use it uh so erroneous you also hit on a perfect thing because when we do the tour it's like wow this is awesome this is awesome ice cream basketball court golf simulator oh the ursae banner oh the trough and then you get to our studio and it's kind of running out of things to talk about boom urinal lottery ball
1:29:55machine no come on memes can't even get this couch weouch. We could sell shirts, too. Of the urinal. No, I took a piss in the part of my podcast studio, and all I got was a shirt. Yeah. You could also sell urinal cakes. Dude, there's no other podcast that you can piss in the studio. That's true. What if it was the next dog toy? Just a urinal. A plushy urinal. That'd be cool. Think about it. Yeah, that would smash sales records. What if we sold pocket urinals? They're just little tiny urinals and they have a vat underneath that you can piss into it. Like a condom? Yeah, and then you throw it out. The bag, yeah. They actually make those. They're called stadium pallets, so you don't have to get up in the middle of the game
1:30:42Those could be useful Or like long drives What? You don't know anything about long drives, Lefty Long drives? Like you ever have to pee on a long drive? Oh I thought you were talking about golf Because that's all you talk about No I did not I was not talking about golf I have not mentioned golf one time in this whole episode You ever know the saying You get what you give? Yeah. That's what's happening right now. You get what you give. And you get. No, you gave. You gave negative energy about the urinal. I'm going to give it back to you. No, you give piss. I'm going to give it back to you. Get what you give, buddy. Whatever. If not wanting a urinal in the studio is wrong, then. You're wrong.
1:31:20Then you're wrong. You're wrong. We could also collect the piss and then we could scan it for drugs. Yep. And get blackmail on everybody. I wish that the Chris, the guy who kind of manages and runs things in the building in terms of operations and construction. Doesn't kind of. He does. Put a little respect on his name. I am. No, you said kind of runs things and operations no he's the fucking man and he runs the building i would love to give him some true serum and just like like i just feel bad for him why because he has to entertain you in these like ridiculous ideas that seems like a dream job what's the hardest get some plumbing in our fucking studio all right like hey chris what what was the hardest thing
1:32:06you had to do today i don't know just like entertain the idea of putting a urinal in a podcast studio that seems pretty trivial there's fucking people out there fighting fires teachers army marines and you're you're complaining about it i'm not complaining i also think there's probably a nice little break from like being a building manager like that it's probably pretty boring agree and you deal with a lot of aggressive tenants and people making your life hell but you can tell those people no yeah yeah no the roof breaks that's a pain in the ass this is a passion project for both this allows you to explore project for him it allows you to explore he has a building manager. He's going to spend hours. He goes and hangs out with his buddies that are also building managers,
1:32:46and he's able to be like the cock of the walk, and he holds court telling his friend, hey, let us know what those barstool guys are planning on pissing on this week. Yeah. And then he gets to have story time, and then everyone's like, man, that's so cool. I wish I managed that building. Also, if he pulls this off, he's the one who pulled off the trough. He'll have like a PhD in piss. i also think that hank is just a big you are you're a naysayer yeah big time naysayer big time and i'm honest i'm honest i'm a dreamer i'm the only one that will you're a naysayer that will i'm the only one that's not gonna be like oh great idea big cat someone has to be like we should not have a fucking what do you say journal in our studio
1:33:22it's nice like they're all good ideas thank you exactly love you mean exactly you're not compromised whatsoever into saying that now can we talk about the flight simulator actually no memes isn't memes tells the truth we gotta talk yeah no i i i haven't seen a single bad idea i would love to talk to you about the flight simulator where you want to put it we make it happen i'm singing on top of the golf simulator. Oh, I like that. It's got some natural altitude. Right next to the slide I'm thinking about putting in? That's a perfect way to get down from the flight simulator. Hit the eject button. Hank is just the great... That's how he walks around all day. Golf. Golf. That's why he's cranky is because golf is shut down.
1:34:03Yeah, he called the golf season. It is. Great October. Yeah, it was a great October. But yeah, the four o'clock darkness. Did you get all your call outs in? Yeah. Well, I still got to do Grinnell. Grinnell's a retirement match. Well, and I got to. You got to. And you and Max. Yeah. We called you out. Grinnell is. You've cleaned his clock before. You'll clean it again. He seems like he's got like, he's almost like you are to me. He's got like a perverted sex thing going on where he has a humiliation kink where he wants you to beat him again. Yeah, that's for everything. That's for Lefty Lockwood's future. If you lose. We're going to have to figure out some time to like go on like a saturday in florida i think but if you lose just
1:34:43the job if you lose to granelli we're going urinal and trough in here and shitter great you can put the urinal like right behind me if i lose the granelli you can you can just pee on my face every day maybe we change the couch to uh just like a big recliner and then next to it a toilet. Yes. There's got to be like some like fucking WWE like you should have to do the podcast. Toilet you can get that can sit on that. Yeah, you should have to do it on a toilet. Yeah. Yeah. Get like you know, Triple H is like toilet that he used in Toronto and we don't finish. Yeah, we don't finish the podcast till Hank does a bowel movement. Mm hmm. You know what that is, Hank? Golf. It's truth, Golf. All right, was that your cool throw?
1:35:32Where are we? We can go cool throw. Yeah, we can go double cool. Cool throw in the National Sports Podcast. Zach, finish us off. Carl Bushby, did you guys see that? Carl Bushby finally made it home. Oh, yeah, I did. Who? Dude, this guy's mom. His poor mom. Let's explain what it is. So a guy started in 1998 from England, and his goal was to walk around the entire world, and he just got back home. Which way did he go? Left. He left? He walked out of his door and went left. How ridiculous is that? 28 years he walked around the world, 31,000 miles, and he just finally got home. I'm wondering how he got through certain parts of Asia where you're not supposed to be. Yeah, and did he go across the...
1:36:19How did he go from... Did he go Alaska across to Russia? I mean, if he was smart. That's what he did? Yeah, he went across the Bering Strait over the ice. Yeah, look at his mom. His mom's like, dude, I haven't seen you in 30 years. Yeah, come on, man. The hell, man. I wonder what the shortest way to walk across the world is. Like, if you go across the Panama Canal And then you get To Asia would be the tricky one Asia's gonna be long no matter what Africa too You could cut off some time Doing the Panama Canal for sure The He's gotta be miserable right Getting home Cab's gotta be jacked up. But I'm just saying, like, his life, this is Brooks getting out of jail. Yeah. Like, you can't walk around the world for 30 years
1:37:09and then just be like, now I'm going to go back to having tea with my mom at 5 o'clock p.m. Like, that just can't happen. You're not going to have the thrill of waking up every day at a new place. What's his next one? Maybe he just does it again. Oh, what if he's like, oh, mom, I'll be right back. I think I dropped something in Asia. My ear pods are in Asia. Or does he go backwards? I call them ear pods or air pods. Undo everything? Maybe swim? I don't know. Yeah. What does he do from here? Carl Bushby. Okay. Good double cool throw. That is a crazy way to walk. I don't know. Yeah. What does he do from here? Carl Bushby. Okay. Good. Good. Double cool. It's wrong. That is a crazy way to walk.
1:37:44We're trying to figure out how he crossed the ocean. Yeah. How did he get to? Well, he went chilly to the UK. So chilly at the bottom start. And then he just went this way and stopped in the UK. This way is he went from South America to North America. So he didn't walk across the whole world. It must be miles. No, he went from Russia to Alaska. You don't have to cross the ocean. No, but he didn't cross between Chile and England. But like landmass wise. Like he didn't start in England and go to England. No, no, he started in South America. He went down here and then came up on the other side. Down here is South America for the audio listeners. But you understand what I'm saying. He didn't start
1:38:22and end at the same place. Correct. That's kind of bullshit in my mind. 31,000 miles though. Yeah. I want to know how... I'm calling erroneous. How did he get... That's his beef with Africa. I guess he was just trying to take the straight shot home. Yeah. He was in a rush. I also got... Started 30 years ago at different times. How did he get through the Dern Pass in North Columbia, South Panama? That is like, you can't get- Oh, that's like the deep Amazon? You can't get through. It's actually impossible to walk through that. Yeah. So he did no motorized transportation. I need to find out what happened in Panama. So that means he was on a horse. How did that happen? He was on a horse. A lot of swimming.
1:38:59He was riding a boa. Have you seen the plants that are in that part it's crazy like if you just brush up against them they got spikes that are like a foot long if you cut yourself you're just gonna have to cut your arm off also again i he didn't go all the way do you guys not agree with me there's a whole gap between chile and england but he can't walk you can't walk that well you got to figure out a way yeah maybe you know what you should have done? Get on a boat but also have a treadmill on the boat. Yeah. So you're walking the entire way that you take the boat there. It's not my challenge. I don't care. Also, you're right. He neglected Africa. Yeah. Alright, good double cool throw. Let's get to an awesome interview with Sal Freelick

1:41:22and now here's sal freelick okay we now welcome on a very very special guest it is world series champion sal freelick in studio sal congratulations thank you incredible run uh i guess we'll just start with the the most generic question you could is, how do you feel five days after? I would assume a little hungover still. Yeah, a little bit. You don't really drink a ton during the year, and then you kind of go ham for three, four days. Body's feeling it for sure, but got some good sleep last night. Yeah, worth it. Entirely worth it. You went to the Thursday night football game? Yeah, we did. We literally landed from Tampa, and they were like, Worth it. Entirely worth it. You went to the Thursday night football game? Yeah, we did.
1:42:04We literally landed from Tampa, and they were like, I think we can make it. And we just got on the bus and went. Got there right at the end of the first quarter. They kind of just rolled us out, and it was sick. Who was the ringleader for all that? I feel like you have to have somebody that's the person that's handling all the logistics. That person's probably separate from the ideas guy. Correct. Who was the ideas guy that was like, bet we we could go to thursday night football jake bowers was the ideas guy behind that um our first baseman and then like our travel secretary kind of sets up buses and has connections there but he was the ideas guy and we were we were pretty banged up not a lot of sleep and we were like it's just you know we don't really
1:42:37want to do this right and then we're kind of looking around like i think we kind of have to do this yeah yeah we're like you never know when you get another chance to do that so we're like, we don't really want to do this, right? And then we're kind of looking around like, I think we kind of have to do this. We're like, you never know when you get another chance to do that. So we're like, let's get on the bus and go. So yeah. Awesome. Yeah, it was a special team. You guys were so much fun to watch. You looked like you had fun playing too. It's refreshing to see a team like that win the World Series, where it's like you guys play your own unique brand of baseball, and it's exciting baseball.
1:43:00Did you know that this was a special team? How early in the season know that this was a team that could that could go on to do some really incredible things yeah i mean it's been pretty much the same past three or four years core guys that and we had a lot of failure in the postseason and in spring training this year it just kind of seemed like there was a lot of people still sour about the last few years of going home when we did. And then I would think maybe by all-star break, I'm like, okay, we're in a lot of games. And then when we won 100 games, I was like, okay, this looks like the team to go on a deep run with. And yeah, we just had a blast playing baseball, though, so it made it a lot easier.
1:43:42All right, I'm going to ask a question that I don't really want to ask, but I'm going to ask anyway. Were you, at any point in the season, were you like, oh, the Cubs are on our tails? Because it doesn't feel that way. It feels like the gap has gotten bigger the last couple of years, and it pisses me off. But it's also like, what are you going to do? The Brewers are just better right now. No, 100%. And with a lot of the teams in the NL Central, especially early in the year, it goes back and forth so much, and I would say by all-star break, you kind of get a good feel of what's going on, but early in the year for sure. And I think we came here for a four-game set. We lost, I think it was like 20-0 one game.
1:44:14And I was like, okay, they might start turning it on. And they did. But yeah, it was nice having a little room at the end of the year and then you guys i like i i know it probably felt different in the postseason but it felt like you guys were never like put not not put to the test but you never were in an elimination game like against you know what i mean like you the padres probably played you the toughest yeah and so was that just like game to game you're like we just have the utmost confidence that we're going to just keep going out there and doing our thing because it also was exciting you guys would just score basically every game would go the same way the team would get up on you guys and then you just score like five runs in the sixth inning and then
1:44:54you'd win yeah i think we came from behind like almost every game in the postseason and um but yeah it's nice right Not having to face elimination or even being down in a series. It wasn't the plan going in. We didn't think we were just going to sweep every single team and roll through. But I would say after that... that maybe first two games against the dodgers were like okay we might have this thing rolling right now this might be something special so was there something that was said in the dugout like when when you get to the fifth or sixth inning where it was just like hey guys now we gotta lock in because it did feel like that and i don't know i mean it was it was also a big credit to
1:45:30just how you guys we talked about it on the show the approach you guys had at the plate it felt like it was true 9v1 every time you watch the brewers play whereas like all you guys had at the plate it felt like it was true 9v1 every time you watch the Brewers play whereas like all you guys were so locked in and like I think of like the Bowers at bat against Yamamoto shit like that where it's like this is what they do they just grind you down yeah and I would say it's just like you start to get to those later innings after you're getting you know shoved on pretty much and as a collective, we kind of knew it was just like, okay, which guy is it going to be today? You didn't know, but you knew someone was going to have
1:46:01maybe their moment or their big at-bat, which would then just get everybody going. You talk about that Bowers at-bat that one day or Terang hitting a homer off Scooble left on left. And it was someone different every game. And when you keep becoming a different person, you just have so much more confidence that you're like, you don't feel as much pressure on yourself to do it. And like, it's going to happen. Like if you just keep applying pressure. So having that feel like throughout a lineup was just unbelievable. Yeah. Can you tell us about the, the rally cigarettes, the jacks, the heaters? Yeah. So I guess, uh, Pisan smelt them in our, uh, cage when he was walking by. What a narc. Yeah. Yeah. Great dude. He walked by What a narc. Yeah. Yeah.
1:46:38Great dude. He walked by and started coughing. Oh, yeah. Are those coming from inside? Hey, wait a second. He calls 911. We're like, no, we're not doing that because, you know, the MLB doesn't allow it. Of course. You know, why would we be doing that? But, no, I was telling Big Head, they're around. They're always available. Yeah. He can't actually say he was doing it. Yeah. It's not legal. And can't actually say he was doing it. It's not legal. And also, that would be funny if you win a World Series and then you still get your mom mad at you. That's inevitable. You show up at home and she makes you smoke a full pack of cigarettes. Like, oh, you like them? Huh? Let's go. You think this is cool?
1:47:11You think it's cool now that you won a World Series? What happened? But if there were cigarettes around i could definitely see the team like oh for sure as a bonding experience for sure yeah like kind of like old school especially you know if there were to be a slogan you know uh smoke heaters to hit heaters if there were to be one pretty good yeah yeah a good slogan i would say yeah um how many how many letters from euchre did uh pat murphy read to you guys throughout this stretch. So one each time we clinched. Okay. Then we clinched the playoffs and then each series after. So Bob, you wrote that many letters and he knew exactly who you were playing? I think some people actually do think that.
1:47:47Well, the first one was a little confusing. We did. The first one we were all looking around like. Pat Murphy didn't really explain the first one well. And we're like, wow, he or you know forecasted exactly what we were but uh no yeah murph just went with it i think even murph knew he was getting some some heat for it and that just propels him to do it again yeah he does i i i don't i don't he he drives me nuts because he's such a good manager and like the whole underdog thing but like he does feel like a guy who just is in tune with everyone and motivates you guys in a way that very few managers do. Is that pretty accurate? Yeah, I think, and he'll tell you, he always says baseball, especially managing, is a relationship game.
1:48:28And that's why they're not called coaches. Every other sport, it's the head coach. In baseball, it's manager because it's a different job. You really are managing. You have to manage the clubhouse, manage the game, pinch hitters when you're going to the bullpen, whoever it may be. And so sometimes when you get managers that coach, it can get hard. And he's really good job at managing while also still coaching and not getting players mad or whatever it is. He's mastered it. Yeah, he pushed all the right buttons, it felt like. What was it like meeting him? Is he a guy that waits to bust balls, or is it right off the bat? No, out the gate, the first time I met him was my first spring training after I got drafted, and he told me he was the video guy.
1:49:06And he was the bench coach at the time, so council was the manager, so I wasn't aware of everyone on staff. So I just believed it. For probably a week, I had asked him numerous times in the days after for him to send me videos of my at-bats. And he just goes along with it until the first spring training game where he was at the end of the dugout. You saw him and you're like, wait a second. Why is he in baseball pants and I have a clipboard writing the lineup? And everyone's like, oh, it's Murph. He's the bench coach. Does he have a type? Yeah, for sure. I mean, so he was in the college game for a while before pro ball, which is kind of unique. And I would say, just having been a college guy myself,
1:49:46we definitely play a more college-y type style than other teams. And so I will say I think he loves his college guys. Not even guys that went to college, but that play that way of getting bunts down, base running, defense, all comes before stats and everything. And so he loves those kind of players. I'm a 5'9 guy myself. He would love you. Yeah. And it seems like that might also be his type. Top to bottom, everyone's 5'9 except for Yelly. Yeah, pretty much everyone i think we might have the smallest team yeah no you would fit right in he would love it as long as you just like ran hard representation matters like there's a lot of five foot nine guys at home that are watching that are like that's i see myself in that world oh yeah for sure it
1:50:29meant a lot to me for sure oh that's funny just short guys he's got he's got a fetish yeah does he like does he kind of not like yellich because he's too tall no i mean he he loves yelly but i'm trying to think if there's been some like other tall guys he didn't like i don't know if there's not too many like ms yeah no he loves ms um i would say the relationships with like starting pitchers are probably different with the guys playing every day so his relationship with him is different if he's a position player though i don't think he'd like Miz. When you're in the field and Miz is pitching, what do you have to do differently? I do nothing. I don't even get a ball. I rarely get a ball. Back up, first base on swinging bunts or ground balls.
1:51:13It's pretty insane watching him pitch. Righty sometimes because they're late against him. I'll be be a little more active but not a lot of balls in play yeah when you guys did so you guys had these long breaks and i was asking you about it earlier the simulated games that you play and everyone's pitching does in the simulated game that you're playing does ms still complain about the mound yeah and we still chirp him as the hitter. I get it. I mean, he's striving. That was the first time I faced him. It was in one of those simulated games where I'm like, I've got to face Miz. I've got to see what it's like. I've never faced him before. Yeah. And I get in there, and I'm just like, oh, my gosh.
1:51:47Yeah. He strides all the way down the mound. The balls. Feels like he's placing it in the catcher's mitt. Yeah, he's like 50 feet away when he lets go. It's different. And, yeah, that was the first time I'd faced him. And I was like, I don't want people to hit this. Does anyone get hit in those games? He hit me. He did? First at bat. Wait, during the postseason run? Yeah, before the World Series. No shit. Oh, my gosh. I was like, yeah, I was like, oh, two also. I'm like, just throw a fastball, strike out, I'll walk back. It'll be great. And he threw one off my back foot. Did it hurt? Were you hurt? For a second, were you like, oh, my God, he threw one off my back foot. Did it hurt? Were you hurt?
1:52:18Second, were you like, oh my God, did I just like break my foot? Yeah, it hurt. That would have been the worst luck ever. But yeah, I think it was actually a cutter. Okay. It was still like 97, but I think the 100 would have probably done some more damage. Yeah. Did Ashby give up any runs in simulated games? No. Okay. That would have that would have been awesome i could have walked around with that being like well actually yeah we have no runs in the postseason true did you have abs in the simulated games we yes we had um umpires that were not the professional level but then we had like uh one of our tech guys in the dugout with it in case we wanted to yeah it was like unlimited so you guys were really good at abs yeah william was unbelievable
1:53:03insane and he wasn't spots that we were like you don't necessarily need to challenge here to lead off the game the first pitch you know but he was right and it's like he he practiced it like he would get in the cage off of like the trajectory pitching machine receive as people are putting in pitches and would practice it like so he just knew it like the back of his hand that's what it seemed like that's awesome because he was dominant and in the regular season he wasn't that good yeah but in the world series it was like we've never we'll probably never see an abs performance like that ever again yeah what what was your final stats for abs this year do you know were you allowed to i feel like murph rarely like if it was me it would have had to been
1:53:42like bottom of the nine three two bases loaded two outs right like type situation i think i might have had like i think it was maybe like two for four something like that on abs but yeah so would wait if you if you challenge it would murph be like dude you can't challenge that what are you doing not yeah if i got it wrong, for sure. We let the guys like Yelly or William that maybe would hit a home run the next pitch challenge it. Yeah. Not a lot of challenges for me. All right, I want to talk about your home run in Game 2 of the World Series. Game 2, yeah. What was going through your head when you hit the home run? Because you hadn't hit a home run in a while. Long time. Yeah. You said you hadn't gotten the ball in the air in a while.
1:54:22That's what it felt like. So when it goes over, you're just like, I mean, what's going through your head? That's got to be the greatest. Like, I would assume you were just floating around the bases. Yeah, and I don't think I've ever hit a home run to center field. I just, I've never been able to hit a ball hard there and uh at the right launch angle and i hit it pretty low so like right off the bat i was i was almost telling it to get down like in front of the center fielder because i i was like it's not gonna burn them um then i saw him going back and kept going back like there is no way um and then when i saw him go over the fence it was just like yeah i blacked out just started saying everything under the moon i think i gave the bullpen like seven fingers like it was just great yeah didn't
1:55:03didn't even feel like going around well it's got to be nice knowing like you could you could do whatever and it would still be half as long as william yeah yeah he takes his time i always said on the small sample size of home runs i've hit i i like going around quick to get back to the dugout and celebrate with the guys yeah right i'm trying to get back with the boys yeah uh i think maybe once um i have to try williams trot though because it does look fun that would be funny if you did yeah everyone's like what is he doing that was his third home run of the year yeah yeah did you uh did you play for italy i did yeah how was that oh blast and i that was in 23 so it wasn't his most recent one no it was it was the last one um and the a big
1:55:50reason why i wanted to do it too is because we were in taiwan for the first that's where our pool was i was this is a great opportunity to go somewhere I've never been. So we went to Taiwan. It was unbelievable. Great baseball fan base there. And then we won there. We won our pool there, like, by chance it was crazy. And we went to Japan and played the Japanese team in the Tokyo Dome, which was also unreal. We got smoked, but, but like super cool experience there. Yeah. That's awesome. Yeah. You were a football player, right? In high school. Quarterback. Quarterback. And how'd you decide baseball? So. Because you were pretty good. Yeah. So I played football and hockey as well through high school.
1:56:33I didn't want to ever give one up. That's pretty crazy. Yeah. well through high school um i didn't want to ever give one up um that's pretty crazy yeah like a i would imagine there's not a lot of baseball players in major league baseball who played three different sports i don't know all the way through high school yeah i would say maybe some of the older guys yeah um some younger guys now you see specializing but it was like i couldn't give i committed to boston college for baseball my sophomore year of high school and i I was like, I don't want to stop playing football and hockey, and they're like, that's fine. And then after my junior year, Boston College offered me for football, and I was like, oh, this is great.
1:57:05I'll go play both. I don't have to give up football. My baseball coach at BC was basically like, hey, if you come here, you're going to be on a full scholarship with them. Baseball doesn't give out full scholarships. You're going to be football first. They're going to take priority there. I think you're a baseball player. I think you can play professional baseball, which is something I never thought about. And I basically at first was like, I'm going to go tell my high school football coach that open it up to other college football coaches. I want to play both. And no other school would offer me for baseball. And so I really started thinking about it. And I was like, all right, I'm going gonna just do baseball um that's what i did wait was that adazio yeah so you're not a dude i had the opportunity to be one but you're not certified not i'm not
1:57:48i'm not damn i know i think about it i think about it a lot yeah you were you were a guy just a guy you had the opportunity to tell steve Adagio, hey, coach, listen, I've done some thinking. I'm not a dude. Yeah. That's basically how it went. That's a brutal way to have to. He's the one guy you don't want to have to tell it to. Did you tell him face to face? No. My baseball coach did. Oh, so you're definitely not a dude. Yeah, no. I didn't have the heart. Are you kidding me? Absolutely not. Can you please tell him for me? What was your game like in high school as a quarterback? Like, were you a dual threat guy? Yeah, so we ran spread. My high school football coaches all played at UNH, and they played under Chip Kelly.
1:58:33Yeah, okay. So we ran spread offense. The old CAA, yeah. Yeah, and basically the the triple option out of shotgun spread i was small where i couldn't even see over the line so i was rolling out right left for passes stuff like that um but i would i would say it was like run first pass second for sure but um yeah man what could have been yeah i played against your your guy uh mikey sammer still was uh oh yeah good buddy of mine in high school. Would he move? Did he know? Would his feet move then? Yeah. No, he played wide receiver too. I think that's where he went to Michigan as. Yeah. That was the last game I ever played. They beat us in the state semis that year. Did he pick you off? I think he did, yeah.
1:59:13Oh, no. Yeah, I think he might have. Wait, so you said something interesting there that you hadn't thought that you could be a major league baseball player all the way up until getting a scholarship when did you when you started playing at bc was there a moment where like wait this i actually can do this like or or was it someone said something to you or some some performance where you're like shit this actually is actually is my future. No, I, to be honest, I don't think until like my junior year when we're draft eligible, like maybe like towards the end of my junior year season where I was like, Oh, okay. I think I might get drafted here. Cause you got drafted. Did you get drafted in the first round?
1:59:49First round. Yeah. 15th, 15th. My freshman year, I had a good freshman year. Um, wasn't anything like crazy special. And then my sophomore year um it was covid so we played like one game and then season got canceled so then it was just kind of sitting around not sure what was happening then you come back for your junior year and especially during covid like i didn't know what was gonna happen with the draft or whatever so junior year happened had a pretty good junior year and after i was like oh okay i might be getting drafted here yeah did you guys uh did you practice any differently uh preparing for the trop oh yeah when we first got to the trop after game two we had a day off so we flew and went right there and basically just
2:00:29set up a machine at home plate and launch balls for infielders catchers outfielders everyone because it's uh that was my first time playing there um it's really hard to see like the ball if you take your eye off it you know it's like hard to re-find it and a lot of times like in the outfield if you got to go run after a ball you'll try to look at it put your head down try to get to the spot and re-find it and almost couldn't do it there it was it was tough it seems like crazy place to field and then it basically turned into south milwaukee yeah so was it Were you surprised? Oh, yeah. We came out for stretch for game three, like four hours before the game. Usually it's empty. Nobody's there.
2:01:09And we went out on the line, and it was just like Brewer's Chance. Everybody was in their seats. I didn't even see a Rays logo. It was insane. And I think a part of that might have been, I think they were saying it was almost cheaper to get a flight in a hotel and a ticket yeah drop than for a ticket in milwaukee i believe yeah i believe that they traveled though um have you had any conversations with yelich about doing the home run derby oh yeah do you think he's i mean he's won the world series like what do you why would you do the home run derby now? Think about this. He almost, I think, has more reason to do it now that he's won the World Series. No, come on. I think so. Because what if he embarrasses himself?
2:01:45Then you can say he's a World Series champ. Yeah, but everyone would be like, oh, but he embarrassed himself. That's what we'll remember him by. Yeah. I don't remember a single thing Willie Mays did besides that last at bat. Yeah, like what if he just doesn't hit any home runs in the home run derby? That's a good point. Just be like, that guy. Terrible way to end. Oh, my God. No one will remember the MVP. Nobody will remember the – nothing. It's just going to be going 0 for goose egg. And we might not even have a home run derby. No, it's true. I don't know how long he's going to play for. He's still got a few years for sure. And I do know that he does really want to do it before he retires.
2:02:19Do you know that at one point we were like, what if we just slipped steroids to him? We were like, let's just do it. Let's just give him a drink. Yeah, I mean, if he can move on your part, I'd understand it. Get him popped right before the home run derby. I'd get it. And then we said it out loud, so now he'll never accept it. He has to win it, right? Yeah, he's got to win it. He's got to win it's gotta win so you just have to maybe you know what make sure someone else i'm gonna say this this might be reckless there's no chance he would win the home run that's reckless he's old reckless he's older like he's still a very good player but i mean like we're talking about win the entire home run derby against guys that are like 21 22 in their prime my ultimate fear is that because i i don't know what's gonna happen to
2:03:02lock out but wrigley is the all-star game this year and like the wind blowing out perfectly for a lefty and just being like god damn it and it is it is a like hitting a home run and batting practice is definitely an art that does not correlate at all to like hitting a home run in batting practice is definitely an art that does not correlate at all to hitting a home run in a game. Every MLB player can pretty much hit a home run in batting practice if they tried. And some guys have mastered it, and we'll say, when Yelly takes his home run round in BP, it's pretty special. Here, I'll say something a little even more reckless. I think if Christian Yellich wants to do the home run derby, he would be an
2:03:38absolute coward to not have either myself or PFT pitch to him. If he wants to do it, let's do it. I'll pitch to him. One pitching, one catching. I'd throw everything in his head. What a spectacle that would be. I mean, we can throw some meatballs for him if he wants. I just don't think he's got it in him. Stop. doing this what are you doing there's so many lefties out there with so much power there's so much younger what i'm sick of being i'm sick of living in fear yeah that's what it is i'm i'm trying to reclaim my truth he's old anyway he can't do it yeah he's old what speaking of like bat batting practice, I saw that clip of Vogelbeck teaching or saying something to Jelic. What is he as a hitting coach?
2:04:23How often is he giving you things to think about and tinkering with your swing? Because it's shocking to me talking to MLB guys, and they're like, yeah, I'm always changing something. Yeah, I mean, I would say that your swing's changing throughout the whole entire year. Like, you don't really replicate your swing. Some days you wake up and you just do something different. And Vogue is just perfect with helping guys stay, because it's going to be different, but stay within, like, the main part of their swing. And he's an amazing human being, one of one. He's the exact same as when he played. And a big part of why I think our offense was great this year, especially with Yelly. I was like, Yelly's guy.
2:05:06They spent a lot of time in the cage together. Not a lot of people, I think, more knowledgeable than Vogue. Yeah, and I saw that stat, the analytics, and I don't understand it, but it was basically that the Brewers were the only team that essentially really stressed opposite field hitting so you guys could see can you tell me about that like do you could see the ball through the zone that split second more yeah so i would say pretty much if you asked the majority of major league hitters they would say you know they're trying to hit the fastball the other way is the general approach but a lot of guys you know like to pull the ball it's easy you hit it harder whatever Murph literally says you can't play on
2:05:43our team unless you can hit a backside ground ball like on command pretty much especially with two strikes and to do that you know you have to see the ball so deep and for me personally it allows you to if I say I'm gonna hit the fastball out of the catcher's mitt, it allows me to kind of see if it's not a fastball, if it's a curveball, change it, whatever it is. So that's why I think we weren't, I think we were, I don't know if we were last or second last in home runs, but I think we just, especially with two outs and two strikes, we're so good at everybody was just able to kind of hit a backside ground ball whenever they wanted. That's great. And when it comes uh not swinging at that first pitch it was something that big kid and i just discussed it it felt like you guys didn't swing at all at
2:06:25first pitches but when you did it felt like there was a reason why you were swinging at that first pitch what what were you guys looking for like how how would you know okay this is one that i can take the bat off my shoulder for? Yeah, it's hard. That's a hard game to play, especially if you're not a 2-3-4 hitter, especially on our team. First pitch is pretty much like a no-go if you're not a 2-3-4 hitter, which stinks at times because you don't want to be 0-1 to some of these starters. And at the same time, you understand your role in an offense. If I go up to the plate and swing at the first pitch and get out, then Churrio has to take a pitch pitch we don't want that guy taking a pitch so um just have to choose your spots with rajan scoring position it switches and like i would say
2:07:06if a starter is just in an absolute groove and just landing first pitch strikes we're like all right let's start taking some shots here uh oh oh um yeah what to ask it a different way because it's going to eventually come out but how were you guys cheating i wish and it was funny i think i was getting blasted on um when churio hit that walk off against mason oh yeah you were but that's not cheating well but you were you were looking at what the catcher was doing so yeah i i wasn't i will i i was trying to i was like, because anytime you're on second base, it's like you want to look at the pitcher, especially relievers who are usually two-pitch guys because you can see the difference between a fastball
2:07:45and like a splitter. And if you can get a pitch, that's great. You can help the hitter out. I don't think our team has ever done that once. Not because we don't want to, just because we're bad at it. Like, we're terrible. Like, other teams are so much better at us than it. And then that i guess i like maybe itched my neck or yeah like you grabbed you like you made a fist or something yeah i wish i wish i had something on him but i did not know but that by the way is not cheating that is completely in the rules 100 but it was funny because i i i said it i i gave up on like i still don't like Brewers, but I gave up on trying to fight against how good you guys were, like, three weeks ago. I tweeted out, I was like, they're going to win the World Series,
2:08:22let's just get used to it. And part of what I was saying was, like, the amount of people were like, oh, the Brewers must be cheating. It's like, no, they're just really good. It's okay for teams to just be dominant. I think the Astros kind of ruined it for everyone, where it's like if a team just has a really good run, everyone's like, well, they must be doing something. It's like, or they're just really good. Yeah. It felt like, you know, it was just, especially when we got into October, just you see that happen a lot with those teams that get hot and just happened to be us this year. It just got hot. Yeah, and I was saying to you, it did feel like there was like that moment, playing the Dodgers,
2:08:55it felt like you guys had like the unfinished business feel to it. Whereas like last year you got embarrassed and it was, you could just see it in the two teams. Like you guys were just so much more locked in than the Dodgers. The Dodgers kind of were a business approach of like, we'll just be the Dodgers and win this series. And it felt personal for you guys. Yeah. It's funny because they have the best, arguably the best starting pitcher rotation in the league and i would say the general consensus on everyone on our team was like we really hope we get to play the dodgers again um and i'm like really like oh like what about the phillies or the braves anyone you run into is good but it really was like everyone kind of felt this
2:09:35just like bitterness from getting swept by them last year that we really did you know want to face them again yeah yeah was there ever a time that you were nervous this postseason oh yeah i mean pretty much before every game uh you know you get the butterflies and um i always said like you know playing football or hockey it was easy because you'd be nervous just go out hit somebody you get in the game in baseball it's like you don't always get a play. It could be the fourth, fifth inning until you get a play or until you take a swing. So it's a little hard to get in the game sometimes. But, yeah, I mean, that game one for the World Series was probably the most nervous I'd ever been before. I got a hit in my first at-bat too, which was, like was like great got out of the way and kind of settling after that yeah um all right so you also are a
2:10:23great dude so i i saw you best buddies is one of the charities that you do a lot of work with and then you do uh stuff with the children's hospital in milwaukee do you like why are you such a great dude is what my question is maybe save some for the rest no i mean world series champ italian salvatore's an awesome name not a cigarette smoker though cigarette smoke is true hey for the kids allegedly yeah but are you doing something big wood now that you've like i would imagine like going to see the kids and stuff has got to be pretty cool for sure yeah i mean i also think like when i when i was a kid growing up i you know i was in boston and had a great childhood of like athletes to idolize who i
2:11:04would see doing cool stuff and i've since i've been drafted and i've always felt like it was just kind of part of the job part of the duty um to do stuff like that and i enjoy it uh i grew up with with the Best Buddies organization in my high school, so I've always been close with them and was able to connect with them out in Wisconsin. But I love doing that stuff. On off days, we get a chance. That's usually when we're free to do stuff, but always make sure I'm booking up the calendar. Did you have to tell Best Buddies, like, hey, I just said that I'm going to drink 100,000 beers for the parade, so I might not be able to do any events this next year? Yeah, they know. You've got a lot of beers to do any events this next year. Yeah, they know.
2:11:38You've got a lot of beers to drink. I do. I do, and they know. Most people know. Someone was saying, I think it's like 26, I think it was maybe 26 a day. For how long? I think it was for a year, which is, I guess I would do. No, that's not right. Wait. Someone gave me the ratio. How many beers did you say that you drank? You said 100,000. 100,000. You said 100,000, so's not right. Wait. Someone gave me the ratio. How many beers did you say that you drank? You said 100,000. You said 100,000, so there's 365. I've got the calculator. You have to drink 273 a day. For a year? Yeah. Yeah. You can do it. If there's any state that can do it, it's Wisconsin. Like living in Milwaukee, you don't have to buy a beer for the rest of your life.
2:12:14That's a great city to not ever have to spend money on beer. Yeah, no. I was telling Big Head earlier, after the parade, I was just out at breakfast the next morning getting a coffee, and I probably had 20 people come up to me and just give me a beer. They're like, we want to help. And I'm like, oh. Yeah, that's not a joke in Wisconsin. No, not at all. You can't joke like that. People just have it on. I'm like, what are you guys doing? It's 9 a.m. They're just like, take it out of their back pocket. Yeah, it's their emergency beer. It's rolling around with it. I'm like, what are you guys doing? It's 9 a.m. They just take it out of their back pocket. Yeah, it's their emergency beer. That's what it is, yeah.
2:12:39They're just rolling around with it. I'm like, thank you. It's like having an inhaler. Yeah. I just need my beer real quick. All right, Zach, you got a question? Let's do a Roback question. R-H-O-B-A-C-K.com. Promo code TAKE. 20% off your first purchase. Q-Zips, polos, hoodies, joggers, shorts. Roback.com. Promo code TAKE. Zach, give Sal a question here. How's itodies, joggers, shorts, rowback.com, promo code TAKEZACK. Give Sal a question here. How's it going, Sal? I did have a quick question. I was wondering, playing obviously a series in October, going for the World Series, what does an evening before game day look like? How do you get adjusted to, you're like, oh, I'm about to go have potentially one of the biggest days of my entire life.
2:13:14How do you get ready for that? And I wish I had the full formula, but I like to keep it low key. Some people like maybe going out to dinner, a significant other, just to kind of keep their mind off the thing, get out of the house. But I've always been like order in or cook or whatever it is, stay in the house. You watch a little film early, but other than that, I was watching a ton of college football. Honestly, it was great. I of college football honestly it was great i love college football and it was something i could watch to kind of take my mind off stuff so yeah that's a great answer college football you got a follow-up uh follow-up yeah they touched on a little bit earlier today or in the interview uh three sport athlete i believe uh last regular
2:13:54season game might have broke a touchdown run for about 50 yards before halftime. Five in the air, one on the ground. Now World Series champion. What do you credit just being you have like some of the accolades where you could be a bad guy. What do you credit like staying a good guy? How do you do that? I'm curious because you do have like the, you could decide to be a bad guy. Yeah, I uh it's a great question great question um i don't know i think i was i was i was just raised uh in a household where being a bad guy was not allowed um and i have a lot of good friends in my corner uh family members girlfriend that if i ever was a bad guy or maybe ever get too big headed or whatnot would put me in my
2:14:38place which I'm very fortunate for so yeah I would say just have some good people around me to keep me humble that's awesome I love that for you are you still a Patriots fan so I'm actually a Steelers fan okay Steelers fan my dad is from Pittsburgh we gotta get Jersey Jerry down here so yeah I'm a big Steelers fan he played at Pitt. Wait, did he play with – when did he play at Pitt? Was it Sig? He came in – yeah, Sig was a grad assistant his freshman year. No way. He was a fullback. He missed Marino by a year. Okay. He was there with Bill Freilich. Pitt has just like the most Hall of Famers. Yeah. It's insane. But I grew up a pretty dire Steelers fan, yeah. You got to get back on Team Italy, by the way.
2:15:25I know. Vinny had – Vinny's a friend of ours and he had the best – it feels like he had the best time ever. Yeah, he always does. I think when he announced he was doing it this year, he was like working at like an espresso bar. I'm like, this guy just loves it. He loves it. Yeah, he was having the best time ever. All right. Well, Sal, congrats again, man. And just, you know, listen, I'll actually say this. Best Buddies, PFT and I would love to make a charitable donation to Best Buddies if you could maybe tell Christian Yelich, hey, that home run derby thing is like, that's lame. Hey, I will. I will get on that. Just start being like, you know, if he ever brings it up, just be like, you're still
2:16:02thinking about doing that? No cool people do that anymore. Just like slip some testosterone in his coffee. Yeah. And I should leave out that you don't think he could win it too, right? Yeah, we'll cut all that. But leave in the part of us saying that he's not a man unless he lets us pitch to him. That part stays in. All right, Sal. Thanks so much, guys. Shout out to Chevy. The official truck of part of my take is the Chevy Silverado. It is the best truck in the world. Alright, what do we got to finish this off? Finish this off, Hank. Teams going for two when they
2:17:12score to be up seven. Free chance of making it a two score game versus one in just a TD and two point try. If it fails, fuck it. Still up seven free chance of making it a two score game versus one and just a td and two point try if it fails fuck it's still up seven this is the billy so i saw this discourse online this guy didn't really fully ask the question but yeah is the billy give me this give me the scenario this is just coming back around that people are saying it's really dumb to go for two yeah no no but is this not to Billy? When you score to go up seven, go for two, so you're up two scores? Is that what he's asking? Yeah, I think so. Oh, I thought he was saying the opposite. I think he's saying... Yeah, teams going for two when they
2:17:48score to be up seven. I agree. To go for two to try to go up nine? Yeah, that's what I think the question is. Yeah, I mean... That would be a major it depends on yeah your offense looks like if you have agree if you have josh allen yes you should every time yeah i don't know i if you have you gotta have a play to score making the other team go for two is also like that they have to score twice I'd like to do that. Guaranteed. And also, I think, when did they change the extra point? A few years ago. So I think that does change everything, where extra points are now missed, where they used to not be missed. Yeah, they used to be 99%. I think that if you have, or like 97%, I think, is what it was before they moved it back.
2:18:37If you have a great short yardage offense, like I'm thinking back to the Carolina Panthers with Cam Newton that year when they had Rivera as their head coach. 2015. That's a long time ago. They were like automatic. I don't want to say automatic, but like 70% from two yards when it was like third and two or fourth and two. They had the best short yardage offense maybe of all time. They should have just gone for two on every single two-point conversion instead of kicking extra points. I just don't. I would rather make them score twice. I would do it. I don't hate it. And it also depends on if you trust your defense. There's variables. I don't think you can say one size fits all for that. What do you guys think about the debate that popped up again,
2:19:19the two-point conversion debate, was what happened in the USC-Ohio State game, where it's like go for two when you're down, what, 15? And you score. Do you go for two on the first touchdown or the second touchdown? I think you want to know right away. Yeah, first, yeah. But I do understand, like, the vibes are killer. They didn't get it, and that does kill the vibes and the fact that you're now down nine. Yeah. And you're kind of fucked. But I would rather know so that you know you have to onside kick right now. Yeah. You're kind of fucked anyways. I mean, you can still pull it off if you just kick there. I would like to know sooner rather than later. Yeah. Alright. Hey, fellas. Had a debate
2:20:04with a couple friends. Would you rather have your team be in a rebuild like the Dolphins were? The goal is to lose and build a winning team or have a delusional team like the Patriots or Steelers where you can convince yourself that your team has a chance for the Super Bowl when any no-bias fan knows they don't. Buddy. We were in the Super Bowl last year. Who would you guys say is the favorite out of the AFC right now? Bills. Beat their fucking ass. So, I don't know if that's delusion or just factual. Put more respect to the Jaguars. You guys beat the fuck out of the Jaguars too, right? Nope. Trevor Lawrence didn't come out of that game early, did he? I think he might have. Yeah. Put more respect to the Jaguars. You guys beat the fuck out of the Jaguars too, right? Nope. Trevor Lawrence didn't
2:20:38come out of that game early, did he? Don't. I think he might have. Oh. Goldfish. Oh, Zach is now looking up Patriots Seahawks Super Bowl. It happened. Feels like forever ago. We were in the Super Bowl. Have you guys been in the Super Bowl really? No. No. This year though. No. This year, though. Sweet. Right? Sweet. Like a cake or a cookie. Kato played well against Seahawks. I'm happy for you. I'm excited. Everyone in this office is fighting over these sweetsies. You just can't be in the rebuild for too long. The forever rebuild is the worst. Memes, you're in a forever rebuild. Yeah, but you get addicted to losing. It's kind of fun. You have Stockholm Syndrome? Yeah, because one day it's going to turn.
2:21:31Yeah. Shane, are you rebuilding the Chargers? We have to. But are you doing it like memes on Madden? Oh, no. You should. Shane's going to attempt the hardest thing that's ever been done in sports. He's going to rebuild a football franchise on one wide receiver. Yeah. Yeah. Actually, the way the Chargers are is the worst because it seems like every year there's Super Bowl aspirations and you can't even you can't even come close do you think that if you had jeremiah smith and like everything else was the same how many wins would he give you right now this year isn't mike mcdaniel calling plays yeah everything else the same um at least one okay at least one which is more which is more than they've had in the last
2:22:16300 whatever days do you think any of those interceptions would not have been interceptions? For sure. Quentin Johnston fucking plays like he's five feet tall. Can't fight for anything. Hate that. Yeah. Speaking of delusional, what's up, boys? Can we start talking about the Steelers as the top AFC Super Bowl contender? Defense stops to run completely while giving up no TDs, and this rushing offense is top three in the NFL. I said it on Sunday. Jalen Warren and what he does for this offense, and, like, yeah, I don't think they're the same Steelers as the Mike Tomlin end of last five-year Steelers. I think this is a different Team I would like to revisit This conversation After Sunday November 15th
2:23:02And obviously they had Joe Warren on the team for I mean This is what fifth year but it feels Like they're finally using him and they're blocking For him and he's playing really Fucking well he's now the featured back Like two years ago he wasn't that he's He's awesome if featured back. Like two years ago, he wasn't that. He's awesome. If that offense – actually, no. If that defense can slow down Joe Burrow, and then I think they have a bye coming up, and then after that, if they can slow Joe Burrow down and Jamar Chase and T. Hagan, if they can somehow hold them to – if they hold them to 20 points or less, I will be fully in. But they already beat them. I know. I'm just saying if they can hold them to, if the defense
2:23:38can show up again, I will fully believe in it. If they get into a shootout with the Bengals, then I'll probably think the same thing about the Steelers, which is probably make the playoffs and probably lose in the first round. I guess PFD and I have done a freaky Friday because I think the Steelers can win a playoff game. Talk to me after the 15th. We're just, that might be the, the, it is the true genius of the show is that we just oftentimes we'll hop off a take and then the other person will take the baton. Yeah. Yeah. It can be like, you know what? I'll let me handle it from here. What would the bracket be right now in the AFC? They would definitely be the two, three, three seat. Okay. So they play the, three. Three seed.
2:24:17Okay. So they play the Bengals. All right. Man, there's a lot of good football teams. Yeah. A lot of good quarterbacks, too. A lot of good football teams, except for the NFC South. And the NFC East. I'm going to start respecting the Giants more too. Good. Yeah. Okay. Why does everyone in the media refer to Tyler Huntley as Snoop? Is there some sort of collusion going on or is that something they're required to call him Snoop? Required. Whenever Chef D.A. Rapp tweets about him, they're always calling him Snoop no matter what. I've never seen a player, never mind a backup, be referred to as their nickname. It gets shoved down our throats all day long. He stinks too. I mean, that's just not true.
2:25:07There's lots of nicknames. I like the nickname Snoop. I don't know. Yeah. It's fucking cool. Yeah, it's a good. This guy's just a Ravens fan. I mean, Matty Ice. Everyone called him Matty Ice, but I guess he was a starter. He was pretty good. MVP. It is a little weird. All right. I'll kind of agree with him. It is a little weird that Shefty and Rapport throw in Snoop with the quotes. Let's see. Who's his agent? Like, that doesn't make sense. They don't do that with anyone else. Right? They might. That's why you have an agent. Maybe. I bet. I bet his agent has made that request from rap sheet and Shafter. You will refer to my client as Snoop in exchange. I will give you all Snoop related transactions.
2:25:49Okay. And Lamar doesn't have an agent. It's his mom, right? Yeah. So if Lamar had an agent, then he would probably get called by whatever his nickname was. You're right. Assuming that he has one. You're right. Okay. I'm looking up Lamar Jackson an agent, then he would probably get called by whatever his nickname was. You're right. Assuming that he has one. You're right. Okay. I'm looking up Lamar Jackson nicknames right now. The Google AI results are The Eraser. Okay. Lamarvelous. And El Freaky. Yeah. Can you imagine? Like, Schefter should have to start calling him El Freaky. El Freaky out with mystery ankle disease. El Freaky? El Freaky out with undisclosed stomach. El Freaky. Snoop Huntley was called because he was skinny with a lot of hair in high school,
2:26:30and his high school coach started calling him Snoop. That makes sense hey father of three whistler hanky meatball lord farquad and gruden's guy zach not a football take but i mean if i'm paying 20 to just get into a bar i have stopped tipping if i order a drink in a canter bottle just ridiculous no there's there like actually no there there are bars where you are that you don't have to pay a cover for you can you're choosing to go to and that money is not going to the bartender that you're paying the bouncers i i have a bar if if i'm ever elected president i have a law that i will enact which is every human being should have to work minimum six months in the service industry. Agreed. They should either have to be a server, a bartender, something along those lines.
2:27:23Like Asia. What? Like Asia. Yeah. Do you have to do that? Military, he's talking about. Because Tom Kim. Yeah, he knows that. It's golf. Golf. Golf. You made that connection. That had nothing to do with what I was talking about. How did you know about that? I'm a world-renowned, educated person. Because a much more famous example of that required military conscription would be, like, Israel's the one that everybody's talking about. How would you know that? You only know that because of Tom Kim making that cut. And it's so perfect because you said Asia. You didn't even say South Korea. You said Asia. Yeah. Yeah. You only know that because South Korea. You said Asia. Yeah. Yeah. You only know that because of golf.
2:28:00No. Tom Kip, yes. I know this. It literally happened. It happened like a month ago. Oh, it did? I didn't even know that. I think we talked about it on this podcast. I know your brain better than you. Zach brought it up on this podcast, not me. Fact or fiction? Okay, what were you saying? I don't even know. I don't either. Oh, yeah. No, no. After everyone graduates high school, you should have to work in the service. You should have to be a waiter, a server, a bartender, a hostess, host, whatever. You should have to work. Caterer. I was a caterer for a year. It sucked. You should have to work in some sort of service environment where you have to interact with people in the public and they come in, they order shit you you have to bring them stuff you wait on them they
2:28:41tip you out all that stuff it gives you very valuable perspective on the rest of your life moving forward it will make you look at pretty much every interaction that you have at a restaurant differently yeah and it makes you i think a better person a hundred percent there's no i i cannot stand people who are mean to uh any type of wait staff it's like just you're just the lowest low when you do that but yeah this person like just what still tip the bartender yeah it's also so easy to tip a bartender a dollar for opening up a can of beer it's not i'm not saying it's tip five dollars because i agree it's not like they made you like in a like 10 elaborate drinks but they're almost i do dollar dollar but if you order five beers it's five dollars yeah but also you know what
2:29:27happens when you tip especially the first beer you'll get better service yeah it works out for everybody i always tip the the first the first round you always over tip because then it's like hey when you want another beer they'll look and be like oh that person is nice now i do agree that that americans are we're over tipped sometimes that's the electronics yeah there are some things like you go into a bodega or a convenience store and you order i don't know like you go up to the counter with uh uh pe a Pepsi and like a bag of combos and the option is right in front of you. Do you want to tip this guy a dollar? And you're like, wait, I never had to tip this person before. Yeah. I understand that.
2:30:05Like you are asked to tip more than you've ever been asked to tip. But if it's a restaurant, you got to be on your P's and Q's. I almost automatically always tip like 25, 20% is the bare minimum. But when the auto thing pops up and it starts at 20%, that's just a slight. Like, I already was going to do it, but just throw in the option for 18. Yeah. Just do it. Like, that's just out of respect. I'm always going to pick the middle or the high one, but you got to throw in something higher or lower than 20. Yeah. I've seen the other day I was getting a coffee. It was 20, 25, 30. Yeah. What? You haven't seen that? You can't do that. I am going to go for the high. But there's a lot of people that don't.
2:30:49They want to go out to a bar. They want to tip, but they don't want to tip 25, 30%. Right. And that's fine. Yeah. You shouldn't be expected to. No. No. If you get good service, okay good show everyone everyone good everyone's good i disagree with pfd's take though why i hate people now oh because of working in the service industry yeah it's the worst yeah it is a double double it makes you get some more stories from it and's not fun. It makes you turn on the public a little bit, but it also makes you more empathetic towards other people that work in the service industry. Yeah, when you go out to eat. Yes. Correct. Yeah, but you're right, because there are some real freaks out there. The worst.
2:31:29El Frico. Oh, yeah. Especially the picky ones. Oh, yeah. Not me. I ain't picky about anything. I realize the only thing I'm picky about Is desserts which is so fat To be like I don't really like cheesecake That's my pickiness Every other food I will eat no matter what My pickiness is I ask if they do like a house made bloody mary mix If they say yes I'm like no thanks Cause I like zing Zang. I know what I like. It's the best. Alright. Numbers. Four. I'm going to go with eight. Give me a 37. I'll go with three if memes doesn't want to do it. Go ahead, buddy. Hey, I will, pal. I'll go with ten. I worked at the Cheesecake Factory and never had cheesecake. Speaking of that. No. Yeah. It's crazy.
2:32:27That is kind of nice. Was it free? Yeah. And you never took advantage? No. 88 Stu Feiner 88 what's your number 88. Stu Feiner, 88. No. No one? What's your number? Eight. Doesn't matter. Come on. 97. Nothing. Just one slight correction. It was not Tate's birthday on Wednesday. Or Tuesday. Excuse me. Tuesday. As originally reported uh that's hand up my mistake on that one his birthday is in fact in january i believe january 16th so happy birthday in advance to tate there's another person by the name of tate frazier that's not his last name which is it which is the same that's where he fucked up. Who the fuck is Tate Frazier? Wait, Tate Frazier is Tate? Is Titus his old co-host?
2:34:00Yeah, yeah. That's definitely... Was it Tate Frazier's birthday yesterday? No. I feel like it was. No. I feel like it was. I just got last names mixed up. It was... I thought that it was Ohio's Tate birthday yesterday. It is the 16th. I don't think it's Tate Frazier's birthday. Is it? It's Tate Frazier's birthday. Tate Frazier? What if it was? No, it's not. It's the 16th. I don't think it's Tate Frazier's birthday. Is it? It's not. It's March. So yeah, one minor mistake. I make a minor mistake. We don't talk about all the ones that I absolutely nail. Happy birthday to Des Bryant, Jared Verst, Devin Hester, Tyrese Maxey, leader. Happy birthday to Matthew McConaughey. Happy birthday on Thursday to Bill Walton. Happy birthday to Odell Beckham, Jason Kelsey, Todd Collins, Johnny Damon, OJ Mayo, Jerry
2:34:45Stackhouse, and Chris Jenner on Thursday. Love you guys. And then we have a very special birthday coming on Friday. Whoa. Very special birthday. Season birthdays now? I like that. Very special.
