Question

How does Nick Saban explain his process and why success is momentary?

Answered from #689 - Nick Saban · This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von · 2026-10-06

Nick Saban told Theo Von that his mother taught him the goal was never beating the other team but doing a job as well as he was capable of. From that he built the idea that success is momentary and has to be earned again through consistent performance. After Alabama won its first national title under him in 2009, he told the celebrating stadium it was the beginning, not the end. With players, he defined the process for their goals and asked them to judge each behaviour against it.
