What is Nick Saban's ESPN documentary Saban about, and when does it air?

Saban is a six-part ESPN documentary series that Nick Saban describes as a scrapbook of how his program was built, from family and childhood friends to coaches and players. It draws on 20 to 30 hours of interviews with him, about 70 interviewees, and locker-room and team-meeting footage Alabama archived without his knowledge. Theo Von said it premieres Thursday, October 8th at 5 p.m. Central on ESPN and the ESPN app.

• Saban says eight or nine production companies wanted to make it and he was reluctant because he dislikes self-promotion.
• Interviewees named in the episode include Terry Saban, his son, Mark Ingram, Rolando McClain and Joe Manchin.
