Question

What does Michael Gove think of Tucker Carlson's interview with Jacob Rees-Mogg?

Answered from 578. Alastair and Michael Gove Disagree Agreeably on Brexit and Israel · The Rest Is Politics · 2026-10-07

Michael Gove agreed with Alastair Campbell that Jacob Rees-Mogg got the better of Tucker Carlson. Gove said Carlson started as a mainstream Bush-era Republican but now pushes the isolationism of 1930s America, with a tinge of admiration for fascism, in the line of Charles Lindbergh and Father Coughlin. He said low growth, identity politics and social media let people monetise conspiracy theories, on the left too, and that the right must police its own boundaries.
