0:00Hello and welcome to this Traitor's Reaction episode of The Rest Is Entertainment. I'm Marina Hyde. And I'm Richard Osman. What an episode. I could almost knock on my intro out there because it was a big episode. We were literally just sitting here just now saying, we're not going to talk to each other at all until the microphones are on. We've sat in silence because if we started, we wouldn't have started. Exactly. Let's get into it. At the end of the last episode, we said there is an issue here, which is this group of faithfuls do not have a centre of good. They have no alliances. They have no groups at all. And lo and behold, the single worst episode, I would say, for faithfuls of all time.
0:56You're flattering it even. Exactly. I have one glimmer of hope for them, which we'll reveal at the end. We're going to do all of our predictions at the end as to what's going to happen next week. But let's begin at the beginning, shall we, with the end. We're going to do all of our predictions at the end as to what's going to happen next week. But let's begin at the beginning, shall we, with the murder. They murdered Miranda, as we basically both suggested yesterday, would be the sort of inevitability. Yes. Immediately at breakfast people are like, oh, it could be Joanne because, you know, she was... You think it could be too obvious, but these are very obvious people in many ways. Yeah, and Joanne
1:22can, you know, you wouldn't put it past her being obvious. And as I said, at the very beginning of this whole series, the entire life of the Faithfuls has been ruined by the fact that things were very obvious to them. They've never recovered from that. No. There was a Michael theory sort of gathering steam, but they're so cowed by him. They really are so cowed by him. It's extraordinary. We will get on to him at the round table as well. Can I just have a brief pause to say what a beautiful exit interview that was by Miranda. Yeah. How lovely. She's really been the beating heart of this show, I think. She's a great player, but also she brought a warmth and a humour to it, which was really, really lovely.
1:55Yeah, and very much like when a chicken does actually lose its head and can stumble around for quite a long time, that faithful community is now without a yeah, is without a head. I don't, I'm not sure it's ever had a head. No. I mean, at the beginning, there was lots of air punching and we said, you've done the worst thing possible, which is get rid of bad traitors early. And it's coming to pass. Just a couple of notes from around the breakfast table. Someone says, Maya's name was brought up for one of the first times. And Joanne said, the hot ones always survive. I want to talk about the Maya of it quite some time. Okay, we will do that later. And also Kenny saying it's getting easier being a traitor.
2:33I think Kenny, you've been unbelievable from the second you were made a traitor. Yeah, your problem is you're highly skilled in a game that lacks other highly skilled players. Not a problem for him. No. The Rest Is Entertainment is presented by Octopus Energy. Now, cinema always really wants reality to cooperate and ideally on schedule. But it often doesn't. Nature is often the biggest enemy of the filmmaker and all sorts of film sets, often out in the open, often on very tight schedules. But the weather doesn't always make things easy right no filmmaking is often a negotiation with the natural world which and there's probably only going to be one winner my favorite story of nature is mad max
3:17fury road which of course is in that incredible barren yeah wasteland but there'd been huge rainfalls before it and the whole place was full of vegetation. I mean, absolutely, there was just stuff growing everywhere. I know, there were wildflowers everywhere. It's like, what? Yeah. And eventually they had to relocate to Namibia because Broken Hill was just too green. And that's nature for you. Filmmaking can be very, very persuasive, but nature often has the final word. Octopus Energy Generation is interested in wind and sunlight and weather for other reasons, of course. Energy generation. It backs builds and manages renewable energy products across 435 sites in 21 countries so this is rather more than a
3:51passing interest in the weather. Hi this is Gary Lineker from Goalhangers, the rest is football. This episode is brought to you by Wise. It's only when you start moving money between currencies that you really think about the exchange rate, the fee and what might be hidden away in the small print. By the way, I want to say something about the production design of this show. It is so incredible, okay? The sheer spectacle of that. In the old days on a show like this, they would have had sort of 12, you know,
5:39loads of fishers trying to make them look a lot. The sheer spectacle of that, not only in a big wide aerial, but also in close-up, outside in daylight where you can't light it, you can't trick it with lighting at all. Every Scarecrow there could have been in, like, a mid-budget, like, prestige horror. It was that, that beautifully made. The prop team that made all this, I know I always say that I would have liked to have worked in props. I just want to say, guys, I love you. I think you're incredible. We're giving props to props. Yeah, it was props to props. I just want to say, guys, I love you. I think you're incredible. We're giving props to props. Yeah, it was props to props. It was beautiful.
6:10The camera work also on this show. Can we also just take this moment? Because especially in something this big where you've got really the size, how far it was spread out, they did it brilliantly. And the editing. Yeah, it was absolutely, the production design of it and the crew on it all are just absolutely the best, and I think it's just brilliant. So the scarecrow mission, Richard. You know, that passes off as you would expect. Thanks to James Blunt initially, but then a general consensus bar one, they immediately give the special power, the dagger power, which gives you two bits of the roundtable, to Kenny and Maya. And then Michael suggests James Acaster. So there's 10 people there. They have managed to choose the three most trustworthy ones.
6:54The ones that go, no, these are the people we would like the special power. These, I think, are our absolute bankers. They chose all three traitors. The smiles that Kenny and James and Maya were trying to keep off their faces was amazing. It was unbelievable. Maya really hardly managed it. Sharon says, wouldn't be my three. And I have to say, I and countless other viewers really felt for Sharon in this episode. Same. Sharon in this episode, that is Peggy's entire arc in Mad Men. I found it so moving. I really felt for Sharon in this episode. Same. Sharon in this episode, that is Peggy's entire arc in Mad Men. I found it so moving. I really felt for her. She's that person at work who is regarded as junior
7:31and is just talked over. I thought that a lot of women would have watched that and thought she said it in quite a telling way because she said, I got mad at the boys earlier because she felt that men had dismissed her and talked over her. And then I find the double cringe spectacle of men then thinking, oh, no, I must be an ally because I'm a celebrity and I'm television, I need to be an ally now. So they were like, well, why won't you say? Trying to do clean up on what they've already done. And saying, well, why won't you say? And she's in that thing that we've all been in, or lots of us have been in, where you're like, nope, don't worry, you do what you want, it's quite they really it was really quite awkward to watch that
8:09i found it was quite awkward to watch it and some of it comes from the fact that james blunt did lead the missions early on and the missions early on were how are we technically going to go about this like with the shield one um yesterday where he's saying why don't we put all the pieces together which is the smart way to do that like the the ones where people have to push things, he sort of understood who should go where and when. This is not that. This is tactically and emotionally trying to work out who the best three people are. That's not a battleground thing at all. That's emotional intelligence needed. But I think because, I mean, James Button has some self-knowledge and he gets more and more as this
8:44goes on. I think he thinks this is the only thing that I can do. Yeah, this is my role. This is what I bring. It appeared to be decided, given that they were told they could have as long as they like to do this task, in unbelievably short order, that these three people, who are the traitors, would be deemed the most trustworthy. They didn't have any meaningful discussion about it at all that we saw and if they had had i think they would have probably put it in the fact that they decided very quickly which is the right thing to do let's put two on everyone's and then yeah we'll get back to discuss at that point why is anyone running you've got the whole day if you want you could literally be there
9:21for hours if you so it's not raining yeah you're going to get the £13,300. This is not a kind of how much of the money you're going to get tasked. You're getting all of it. The only thing is is there some tactical thing where you know you can work out who to give this power to and they had worked that out all immediately. They're still running. They're still shouting come on come on you can do it. You can do what? That's why I'd be terrible on the traitors because within a second I would have just said, sorry guys, we can literally just sort of absolutely take our time with this one. There's nothing to be gained. There's no jeopardy here. So watchable. That's why they call me watchable. I would have had to keep my mouth shut on that
10:04and then saved it up afterwards for when I talked to the, when I did my master interview and just said, what's going on there? But the old, that format doesn't work. But it looked beautiful. And again, that thing of laws of unintended consequences, probably the funniest thing that's ever happened on The Traitors. Just. All of them just going, no, and quickly, as you say, there's no time limit. Yeah. Very quickly just going, no, it's the people we trust. It's the people we trust most. And we know exactly who those are. And then just doing this awful thing to this person, which was Sharon, which was, honestly, a lot of people will have found that really quite hard to watch because they will have known
10:41what it was like. Absolutely agree. That's the actual truth of what happens. It's like a kind of true version of what Ross Kemp thought happened to him with the hat. Where you're like, okay, no, I really, really felt for her. I felt for her yesterday. I really felt for her today. And also you could see that she was sort of deflated and beaten by it because she was I don't really see a way through this. That's the trouble. It's like, you know, unless it is the 1960s and it's Mad Men and everything's changing, but only it changes towards the end. Okay, so they basically have an outdoor turret. It's amazing. Like when the others go away. So we'll talk about that bit first because there was a very, very interesting counter
11:20to that back in the castle. But the three of them talk to Claudia and even Claudia just going, I mean... This is... But by the way, within them, it was so quickly decided within them that Kenny would get the dagger because they've all tacitly agreed now that he's the most competent. It's not even like, you know, Maya's kind of messed up on that task. Well, she's the boss. Yeah. Maya's the boss, so she can do whatever she wants. She has seniority. Obviously, it's not Acast. No. Well, she's the boss. Yeah. Mai's the boss, so she can do whatever she wants. She has seniority. Obviously, it's not Akers. No. And so Kenny's got it. I mean, James, I think, probably could... I mean, there's an argument
11:52that James could have stepped up there. I don't think he could have done because he'd been quite vocal about not wanting to... He couldn't at that point, I don't think. Yeah, exactly. She would have then... So I think it had to be Kenny who we previously saw creeping down the middle of a crypt, trying to put someone off, and now he's gone double dagger. Just give him everything. He deserves it. He's been amazing. But when they were there talking to Claudia, I honestly think 10 minutes of sensationally brilliant, genuinely brilliant television, and I wonder if they kept them back a little bit longer than they ordinarily would have done, because the other seven, the faithful, were left alone for quite a long time.
12:29Certainly in the edit, left alone for quite a long time. And all they were doing was talking about which other of the seven must be a traitor. No one was talking about the three people who are actually traitors who they trust. It was seven people going through a succession of different rooms, each going through why one of the others must be a traitor. There is a point in every series where you're just shouting at the TV, do the opposite. You're so bad at this. Literally just do, like in Seinfeld where George Cassander says, I'm just failing at life so badly. I'm just going to do the opposite. Anything I would think of doing, I'll just do the opposite of that. And how can I not make out better?
13:08There's an amazing bit where in the middle of that bit in the cast, and again, for the producers, what a gift. Because there's no way as a producer you can get the traitors and the faithful separated. You can't really do it. Certainly not for any length of time. They had done that themselves and then turned in on themselves, Bash at one point in his master interview said they said well who's the traitor, he goes well look he thought it was either Sharon, Joanne Michael or Leanne I think well apart from you the only people left are Romesh and the three traitors and Bash is bright, now let's talk about the round table. The first gambit is Kenny saying to Bash, sorry, I've just got to say the thing about the bar
13:51and the what have you again, because Kenny's just going to have to keep stirring that particular part. Yeah, the interesting thing as a traitor, at any given time, you only really have to juggle one ball. Yeah. You know, that's all you need to do. It's not complicated. They're not clubs on fire is it watching it and and ingrid made the point she's absolutely right this is the stage of the game where it is much more stressful to be a faithful than it is to be a traitor at the very beginning of the game it's stressful to be a traitor because it's new and you know you're on your guard at the very end of the game it's stressful to be a traitor because you're so close to winning yeah this is the point where there are
14:28nine ten of you left where as an action you could see with sharon the stress of the thing yeah because she knows she's faithful she knows for a fact she's faithful she knows the game is slipping away and 30 of them are traitors it's just ridiculous she has no alliance with anyone but not just that she's not out in the cold. Nobody in the faithful has any alliance. There are no alliances with anyone. There's kind of like weird professional respect. There's professional kind of intimidation, cowardice in the face of people who you think are kind of grandees. There's all sorts of things like that. But there's no alliance. There is a glimmer of hope. I'm going to get to that at the end. I think there is a narrow path to victory for the faithful here gosh yeah i mean it
15:09is narrow but yes so the round table kenny has the double dagger worth pointing out that in every single other round table so far in this series it would have been meaningless i mean it wouldn't it wouldn't have made any difference to anything this one funnily enough it was very very meaningful in the u.s traders where they introduced this double dagger, you were allowed to keep hold of it for as long as you wanted. You could decide when to deploy it. And the winner of that show kept it for a very, very, very long time. Because obviously a double dagger, when there's five of you left, is very, very powerful. When there's 10 of you, it's less powerful. That's an example of producers learning a little bit
15:42from other series. They knew you have to use it immediately. James the Gardener had it in the civilian version, didn't he? But it didn't really mean anything. Yeah. And that was only to be, I think the rule of that was, you can use it tonight sort of thing. And it didn't end up meaning anything. I had forgotten that. Sorry if I've got this wrong. I don't think it meant anything in the end. No. But in the American one, it really, really did. In the American one, it was incredibly useful. I think they held on to it for four round tables or something. They did, yeah. Unbelievably long. We won't say who held on to it in case you want to watch that series, and it's very, very worth it, I would say.
16:13But it was very powerful in that game. And in this game, it's proved to be very powerful, which might end up being an issue for Kenny. We'll see next week. Michael had a go at Sharon, and James Blunt was telling everyone he was going to go for her and then because Michael had done it, seemed to sort of take pity or just be unable to quite push it all the way home that he wanted to and he sort of hinted that she was... Yeah, we had another of those Michael moments. We talked about that one before when he discovered that people had voted him the sort of most, you know, the father of the house. The grandee. And he had that dual thing of, oh, I rather like that, and this is trouble for me. He had exactly the same thing,
16:49and you saw exactly the same two thoughts occur to him. When Romesh says, I don't understand why you haven't been murdered, because, of course, you know, you're such a powerful force in the game, and if they were to get rid of you, if you were to be murdered, this whole place would be decimated. And you saw Michael Sheen at once go, oh, the whole place would be decimated. And you saw Michael Sheen at once go, oh, the whole place would be decimated without me. And also, oh, no. But he seems fairly bulletproof at the moment. And also, by the way, three names not being mentioned at all. Not once. Maya, Kenny, James A. James brought up the Miranda and Joanne thing. Joanne was hilarious. Like, you know, I said a few things.
17:26It was a real like next morning. I'm a bit embarrassed at my behavior. James Acaster was like, that can still be suspicious. This whole thing that Sharon's become a different person. The most obvious Occam's razor explanation is she's not as well known as lots of you. She's young. And she said, that's fine. she's still obviously quite nervous around them and then she said well I've been working to get my confidence up yeah given their dynamic you'd think oh they'll all just decide to go for Leanne tonight which again they just don't for some reason do and the other reason her behavior has changed is because she's the best player yeah and she's the only one who's trying to work things out and she is surrounded
18:05by people who are not doing their job. And so she has had to kind of go, this is not how I feel comfortable being confident putting myself out there. But I love this game and I have zero other option other than to take matters into my own hands. That's why she's changed. I told you, it's Peggy and Mad Men. And on that note, let's go to a break. This episode is brought to you by our friends at Lloyd's. Now, let's talk about movie con artists. Who are your absolute favourites? Movies, TV and book, my answer is the same. And it's Tom Ripley. I was going to say him. It's one of the greatest characters of all time. So from the Talented Mr Ripley books by Patricia Highsmith, there's five of them.
18:56So if you like Talented Mr Ripley, you are in luck. He's like one of the worst men in the world, but you absolutely, you root for him at all times. Now, of course, deception makes for excellent entertainment on screen. In real life, when it's your bank account being targeted, the charm somewhat disappears. You join us at the round table i mean i've got so many notes for all this okay yeah it's time to it's time to vote it's time to vote we start with kenny's double dagger yeah we know that's going to sharon maya goes for bash by the way weird yeah a difficult one might be might be raised at another point yes Joanne goes for Leanne which I thought a lot more people you knew it wouldn't happen because there wasn't any conversation about her but otherwise and then Sharon, Leanne James Acaster and Bash all go for Joanne and then Ramesh goes for Michael
21:18again I want to talk about Ramesh and then Michael and James Blunt go for Sharon so it's Sharon versus Joanne. They've got to do a speech. Sharon's was very sweet. But Joanne, I mean, the trouble is Joanne talks her own words persuasively. Yes. For a living. And she was very, very good. It was very good. She likes an audience. Yeah. And Sharon has words written for her. Yeah. For a living. And in any way is cowed by this group. And also feels beaten already. Yes. Sharon has words written for her for a living. And in any way is cowed by this group. And also feels beaten already. Yes. And you can see she feels beaten already. She's sort of like, I feel slightly uncomfortable with what's happened today.
21:56This is not as much fun as I thought it was going to be. If I can survive, great. If I don't survive, a bit of me will be kind of, it's quite nice to get out of this cauldron. And then we move to the cliffhanger. In the next round of voting, Maya, Leanne, Michael and James vote for Sharon. James, Acaster, Bash and Romesh vote for Joanne. Romesh, by the way, saying, I don't think either of you are a traitor. I really want to get on to him. We're going to find out where Kenny's double dagger is going, but given he voted for Sharon in the first one, I... I mean, it must be. It must be, right? And if it's not, he's in trouble. And also, he understands the vibes of the game. And he knows, regrettably, he has to pick her off.
22:32Yeah. And it's not very nice. But it's quite... It would be much worse, I think, if he changed it. I think he's going to have to just stick and do what he did before. I think so. I mean, if he does change, it will be his first real misstep. Yeah. I think. And he hasn't made one yet. So you wouldn before. If he does change, it will be his first real misstep, I think. And he hasn't made one yet, so you wouldn't have thought he would. But again, who knows at this stage of the game. So we're going to assume it's Sharon for the purposes of talking about next week. But if it is not, then all bets are off. Yeah. So I sort of wanted to talk a bit about Romesh. I was wondering whether Romesh has done an unbelievable job
23:05in convincing people he is not a big dog. And I always want to thank Joe Maler for that bit of lingo that he's given to the game. In the way that Heat, we don't know who first said Heat, but it's just part of it now. Joe Maler, he has done an unbelievable job. I mean, as has Myra in a way, and we'll talk about her next maybe. But convincing people he's not a big dog, he's done brilliantly. Are we starting to see the first public demonstration of his gut saying actually I don't think it's either of you and he voted for Michael. It's I can't, well we'll go through our predictions. Well when I talked earlier on about there being a narrow path to victory for the faithful that narrow path starts with
23:46Romesh. I agree. Because I think Romesh has not told us what he thinks. I think Romesh has not formed any alliances because he's just been aware that that's not the way to play the game. He's played it beautifully. He's now told us something he thinks. And because of the nature of his contrarian nature in many ways, he will be the first to say effectively we should do the opposite. If once Sharon goes of his contrarian nature in many ways, he will be the first to say, effectively, we should do the opposite. If once Sharon goes and you have to see her standing up saying, I'm a faithful, and they're all going to think, if that's what happens, then he, at that point, could make a move to become the leader of the faithful.
24:19So can the faithful coalesce around anyone? Seemingly, at the moment, no. If Romesh steps up, then I would say yes. And I say one of the things that he absolutely has in his favour is we've forgotten this idea that there were five comedians in there and none of them so far have been traitors. No. And the people that we have left are Romesh, Joanne and James Acaster. And I think Romesh trusts Joanne. He's just told us he doesn't think that she's a traitor. If I'm Romesh, I know I'm a faithful. My view is that Joanne is a faithful. At some point, you have to start looking at James and Romesh is bright enough to know that no one has got anywhere close to anything so far. So Romesh kind of, I think,
24:58this is their only path to victory is if Romesh is keeping an awful lot to himself and he's absolutely the sort of person who people would coalesce around. I don't think they would coalesce around Michael because everything is too scattershot. I don't think James Blunt wants anyone to coalesce around him because he, in this episode, is saying, look, I just don't think I'm very good at this. Well, I feel... And they're not going to coalesce around Joanne. And Bash, it would be hard as well. I think Romesh is the only person who can marshal I agree with that but something is going to break amongst them when they see Sharon standing up there if that's what's happened and unless they do they realize
25:36necessarily do something radical they are losing and I believe that Romesh thinks it's Michael. And if he starts saying anything, I think they will say, actually, Michael's been manipulating us all along. He's been pulling our strings. You know, I don't believe Michael can survive the story now. I just don't, I don't understand how he could, the position he is at the moment. How could he? And it will be Romesh, even if leading from behind, who affects that. And it might come really quickly because I just think people are going to think what happened to Sharon was really bad and there's going to be a sort of sense of shame. Can we just talk about Maya at length? Sorry, at some length. We don't see a single person suspect Maya
26:21except Bash is on the way to the task and says it and then he gets dismissed. Joanne's theory that the hot ones survive survive I love this because she is like a final girl in a horror movie you know and except the twist the final girl is she was Freddy Krueger I think yeah maybe that happens in one of the screams but there's lots of there's lots of research into into criminal cases where the the more attractive a defendant is just about yeah the more likely they are to get off. And in reality TV, people associate like hotness with, you know, things like trustworthiness and intelligence. Also, by the way, this is a complete sidebar, but I mean, the Fonfa zebra jacket, if you bought shares in Fofa
26:59at the start of this, you were going to buy an island at the end of this because Maya Jammer is sending everyone onto those websites. Like, could I get away with this? I mean, she's Maya Jammer, so proceed with caution. But yeah, I have bought a faux fur coat during this series. Have you? She has been, I'm sorry to say, mirror, mirror on the wall, but she has been the fairest influencer of them all on this. Interestingly, I bought a buttercream linen jacket after the James Bond episode. Not the full suit? Full suit, no, it is the full suit. Okay, so yes, I just wanted to say something. It is extraordinary. And as I said with Romesh, her sort of ability not to come off as a big dog is, I think, yeah.
27:40And Kenny's ability to be a sensationally good liar and charming at the same time. It's very, very impressive. And James flying under the radar because he has chaotic energy. Now, let's look into our crystal ball. Two episodes to go. We're going to do what everyone at home is doing. What do we think is going to happen? Who do we think is going to win? I won't be doing the final, but I will be doing the previous one. But we will be talking. But there are only two episodes left. We are very, very near the end. So it's time to nail our contest to the mast. I'll have a bloodbath in the next episode because we've got to have only five left. So we're up to lose a lot. Yeah, I mean, we'll see. There might be some
28:17little clever little twists they've got up their sleeve. Tray to win? I would have thought... I mean... As I say, if it's not a tray to, it's because of Romesh. Romesh has the strength to lead anything against him. Yes, I think so. I think... So let's assume Sharon goes. Yeah. I think Michael next out. Yeah. Joanne will be out. They'll come to Joanne. I mean, she might not. See, I think that the faithful alliance begins with Romesh and Joanne. Yeah, you're right. Okay, you're right. I think Michael is the next to be, probably the next to be banished, and if not, the next to be murdered. I think he's the next to be banished. At that point, I think the faithful have an opportunity. I think at that point, Romesh can, because who's he got?
29:05He has got Leanne, he's got Bash, he's got James Blunt, and he's got Joanne at that stage. It's like the A-team. Everyone brings different things and liabilities to the van. But the fewer the numbers, the game changes completely. It changes completely, and the tactics change completely, and there is a path for Romesh to lead the Faithfuls to glory here. I feel Romesh will be in the final. I mean, it depends how it goes. I think straight after Michael, I think that a traitor will be banished. I think they might get rid of James. I think they might find a path through to do that. I think at some point they have to. I think they can't just keep saying it's Leanne. If Romesh is developed as a leader by that point, he will
29:46say the equivalent would do the opposite and he will probably say it's Acast. And whether or not, it's difficult for people to break the fourth wall of the show or the show doesn't like people to be shown breaking its own fourth wall so people don't say, you know, you do this for a living or, you know, of course they'd have put, you can say comedians, you can say there's a way of talking about it that is acceptable that can make it to the edit. I think so, yeah. But I think he'd be most comfortable picking off James because just thinking there must be someone like that in there, it's so unexpected, we are so wrong about everything, we have to just do a 180. Yeah, I think so. And so we have to, given that Maya and Kenny,
30:25I think are probably safe from banishment for a little while and there isn't long left, you have to have three faithful up against the two of them. Yeah. The end game, as we always say, is a crapshoot. We're almost in format breaking territory here, depending on... Well, a scenario I can see for sure is the last four are Romesh and Joanne. Who's the last five going into that final episode? We don't know it'll be five because they can do what they like. They did last time have five in the Celebrity Traitors final episode. Yeah. I mean, it depends if Romesh can survive murder and if anyone can, he probably can. Because Romesh is also bright enough to form an alliance with Maya and Kenny, which is what I would do in that situation.
31:06If he does work it all out, then that's what he's got to do. But I imagine he could take Joanne into his confidence. And Joanne is smart enough to sort of know she's been sold something that's worth something. She'll do what she's told by that point. No, but you know what I mean? She also, she's canny. Yeah, oh, for sure. And when it gets to that end of the game, it's very, very pressurised. And you do, it does focus the mind a bit. Feels like Maya and Kenny will make their way through. So yeah, if I was to predict a final five, I would say those four are in it, plus a floater. Okay, yeah. And we've seen many times before that situation, 2v2 with a floater, and all that the traitors have to do is persuade that floater.
31:44Bash is just like a wild card. I love him being there. So do I. He remains actually an unknown quantity in terms of, I can't say for sure whether I think he could be there. In which case, he could suddenly kind of really come into his own in a much bigger way. Yeah, I would have thought Blunty because, and I mean this in the loveliest possible way because he admits he's sort of a useful idiot for the traitors and everyone likes him. I wonder whether they'll, I think they might turn on him. Interesting. I think they've done their turning on him. Maybe they have. I think he's pre-turned. You know, like one of those chickens you buy from Lidl. Yeah. Okay. Maybe. I agree with you on that final four with one other.
32:33But who knows? We could be completely wrong. Oh, we're almost certainly completely wrong. But it's fun to predict. I mean, we could just be returning here on Thursday and being like, so Joanne went. Yes. In which case, a lot of our theories. Yeah, yeah. In which case, I want my avenging queen, Sharon, to ride all the way to the final. Oh, yeah. Oh, God, I feel bad for Sharon. But yeah, I think. They will not like watching their behavior. If this was, if you. Celebrities won't like watching it. Oh, they won't like watching yesterday's episode. They will not like watching that episode. No, this will have been their worst episode to watch we give the health warning always yeah that any of us any of us
33:10in that same situation would do exactly the same thing because it's very hard in that castle and i do think group dynamics is such a huge part of traitors and they don't have the dynamics for lots of reasons because of the props that have been taken out from underneath them yeah and because of the way that traitors were recruited and things like that. And with the weird beginning, they've never really developed what they need. Now would be the time to do it. I think Romesh is probably the only person who can do it. But yeah, you have to say the traitors are big, big, big favourites. It's classic. It's so great for it to be Romesh because he's the guy in the movie that you're like, how's it fallen to me
33:45to save the world yeah he's that every man it's so perfect and he's been so funny I found him so funny throughout he's been he's been a brilliant booking he's as always as always I mean the hardest working guy but he is brilliant so funny in this but it is really like Jesus do I the suburban dad have to save the world okay I've seen the movie a few times even when Joanne said the hot ones always survive at Rome so you're saying I'm gonna win yeah okay I have another question for you so that would roughly be my prediction in that not all three of the traitors get through some you maybe James is cast off yeah he's the one that I'm but let's say that doesn't happen let's say a thing that you see very
34:25rarely which is the three traitors just sail and at the moment genuinely i think that is a definite possibility and i'm not predicting it because something weird always happens but at the moment you would go well i mean that's a definitive possibility so the three of them go through somehow do well that's a bit of a problem for the on each other? Well. Is there a point at which... At this point, you're just doing... It's just... I mean, it's pretend, isn't it? Because it's for that... Someone's charity is getting the money. Yeah. It's not the same stakes as it is in the civilians game. Yeah. I don't think Maia would do it. Kenny might think this is what the game is and is skilled enough to do it.
35:05I don't think James Acaster would do that for a second. I can't see a world in which any of those three turn on either of the other two. I don't really think that would happen. They haven't played like absolute kind of swashbuckling, you know, killers with a smile at any point. I mean, they are getting better now but only because everybody else has been so terrible. I don't think, I don't see that that would particularly happen. If anyone's going to do it, I think Kenny might do it. I know Maya's got that energy that like, actually, you know, you hear the high heels clicking and saying, sorry, you must've known it would always end this way. And she has got that energy to some degree, but I don't think she'd actually do it.
35:42I don't think it, I think it could, you know, you could see all three but oh if Kenny did it he'll be the biggest star in the country oh my god but you know what it was just reminding me honestly choosing the three traitors as the three most trusted people is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in a traitors history but to come a mere 24 hours after Michael and everyone was saying in the challenge with the shields, were saying, I mean they bottled it, I mean they're so disorganised, I mean it's hopeless I think it turns out it turns out they weren't A brilliant, spectacular task, all of it an excellent episode Yes, a brilliant episode, so two episodes to go I mean it's, we have to wait
36:23to Thursday, there it is. We always do. I mean, it feels like a traitor's win. But, but and by the way, a completely different thing might happen. But the wrong thing is interesting. I should point out always, always, always that we have absolutely zero, we have kept ourselves vacuum sealed from information. We've been wrong all the way through about lots of different Absolutely zero. We have kept ourselves vacuum sealed from any information about this kind of thing. We've been wrong all the way through about lots of different things. So when we're predicting things, we're doing it exactly the same way that you are, is that we're thinking what could happen, what might happen. But one thing's for sure,
36:55I can't wait to find out. Nor can I. See you guys next Thursday for this. But we'll see you on Tuesday for the normal show. Yeah, of course we will. Boze here.
