0:00Hello and welcome to this Traitor's Reaction episode of The Rest Is Entertainment. I'm Marina Hyde. And I'm Richard Osmond. Hi everybody. Hello Richard, how are you? Very, very well. We just watched Traitors Episode 7. Have a little chat to it. And listen, anyone who entered the sweepstake of which person leaving Traitors would quote Shakespeare, I think we've all just won. It was, of course. It was, of course, Roskam. Our sweet prince. He didn't get that that is quite an ironic quote, but whatever, I'm not going to. Yeah, to thine own self be true, which is Hamlet. Never mind, we won't get into his reading of Hamlet, but he departs. He departs the castle. The thing that he feared most happened to him.

1:03Often the careful what you wish for. Yeah, but he didn't realise it was happening. So perhaps at least he wasn't thinking, oh my God, it's happening to me right now while it was happening. Yeah, but one of the single most ironic... He would have known nothing about it, Richard. He would have known nothing about it. Honestly, it was very peaceful. It was very peaceful. Yeah, but one of the most ironic ever murders in the castle. I think he didn't even need to put a hat on it. Yeah. The rest is entertainment is presented by Octopus Energy, whose generation business backs, builds and manages renewable energy projects. On screen, though, the practicalities of sourcing power are slightly more negotiable.

1:41Certainly in scripts. I mean, my favourite energy source story, Back to the Future. Of course, they're supposed to have plutonium. They don't have plutonium. So they were like... Back in when they go back in time. When they go back, yeah. So they need to get 1.21 gigawatts. Which they get from the lightning strike, which they know is going to happen at 10.04. Very, very clever. Monsters, Inc. Now, you know where the power source is at Monsters, Inc.? Everything in Monstropolis is powered by children's screams which is why they need to sort of harvest them. Yeah, may not work in real life. On screen, keeping the lights on does seem to require an unnecessary amount of drama. Now Octopus Energy Generation

2:15has rather less need for a screenwriter. It backs, builds and manages renewable energy projects with 5.7 gigawatts of capacity across its portfolio. Enough to power all the homes and businesses of Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester combined. A slightly more conventional approach to generating power. Hi this is Gary Lineker from Goalhangers, the rest is football. This episode is brought to you by Wise. As James Acaster, who we're going to have to have a whole section on, I mean a whole section towards the end, but he did actually say something he said which made me think, oh yeah, you're right. It was actually impossible really for them to get anyone to sort of, there was no strategy to that murder. You couldn't choose. It was anyone who came in. And I know you didn't think it was that hard, but I did think A, it was just anyone you couldn't choose it was anyone who came in yeah um and i i you know i know you did you didn't think it was that hard but i did think a it was

4:28really hard to do it and b the idea of strategically targeting at that at anyone specific you can't strategically i just i just have to stop for one second if you are continuing on this thing of saying that was a hard murder to do when it was the single easiest murder in the history of traitors we're gonna have to disagree we said last time they're sitting in the room with two people in their 60s and 70s who've been out all day and they were sitting in front of a warm fire in a library and they're about to go to bed and all they have to do is wait for one of them to yawn i wonder if jerry yawned after him we didn't see that okay but it was edited so beautifully and again and the recap was edited beautifully as well

5:10and it should tell you why it was edited so beautifully like that because it took two seconds it took two seconds of course it did they what ross sat down he's knackered like he's been running around all day he's tired he's about he is literally about to go to bed. How much more yawn friendly do you want somebody to be? He would have sat down. They would have said one thing to him. He yawned. James would have said, sorry, am I boring you? He gives a smile, done. And then we think, oh, how are we going to build this in the edit? And they built it beautifully. Now, if I was James in that situation, I would have done the same thing, which is you're not going to win that task as the traitors you're just not so you know what just let them get on and

5:50build that you know and build shields try and nick a couple of it if towards the end of the thing it looks like everyone's going to get a shield maybe venture out steal a couple of bits and balls you're not going to complete that shield so if i I was Acaster, I would have done the same thing, other than I would have lifted my blindfold. Bare minimum. The absolute bare minimum. That feels, at least make eye contact. Yeah, he couldn't bear to see their judgment. Yeah, but that feels, yes, it would be interesting to know why he thought, no, I'm just going to stay. I don't want to see this. It's like a kid, if they got their eyes shut, then that thing didn't happen yeah you know i did not just steal those sweets if i if i'd stolen those sweets why are my

6:30eyes shut it feels like in again in a in a different grouping of people that would come back on him we discover later on it doesn't really and again because he's a comedian and he ended it beautifully in in the turret at the end just by saying in my defense uh for the first time i really enjoyed being traded because i enjoyed killing ross kemp and you can see immediately maya and kenny like oh that's nice he's like an errant son who has come back from university and he's got himself a job for the holidays like oh do you know what actually we're very proud of you we are returning to him in the second half because i've got a lot more to say on how it all ended. Oh, really? Yes. Oh, fantastic.

7:06I should look forward to that. The next morning, breakfast, Michael, we've got to talk about Michael's intuitions are very good and then at the last minute they deviate in a completely wrong direction. But he has very, very good instincts. Yeah. But they go wrong when he starts developing them into theories. But his instinct that there had been a murder in plain sight was of course absolutely correct and so he was mentioning all to them at breakfast i liked it when joanne said i've had my suspicions about liam from the start okay later in this episode jam was liam will say we have to start targeting the chaotic people in this game okay no by the way joanne at the end also says it's time we start targeting the chaotic

7:47people you think you want to be you want to be careful because that's going to be an even more ironic murder than than ross kemp but i think um general theory in the turret is it was a good chaos murder and i think it was a good chaos murder michael immediately turns on leanne leanne by the way if this was a murder board in a police station, would have had about five bits of red string pointed towards her this time. Oh yeah, she's yarn central. Yeah, but none of them stuck in the end. But it seems obvious from outside that she's not a traitor, but any reason anyone can have to accuse Leanne of anything, they tend to take. I can't believe she won't be next, but we'll have to get to that. Arguably, we knew we were saying goodbye to Jerry in this episode

8:26because we had some wall-to-wall Jerry gold throughout this. Yeah, Jerry's all gold. The Monty Don, the love for Monty Don. Jerry talking about James Blunt, his face is redder than a fox's ass at Gusby time. Just stick her in the next series of True Detective. She was repeatedly described throughout the episode as iconic, which I think is their word for suspicious. Yes. The celebrity euphemism for suspicious. It's a celebrity euphemism for someone who is as famous as me, but older. Yeah. And, yeah, but anyway, you could sort of feel she might be going because she had so much screen time in this and wasted none of it, really. So Michael turns on Leanne, then later on after the breakfast, this thing, so the whole day was essentially, let's get Leanne.

9:15And the theory starts being expanded by Michael. And I would just say at the end of this theory, that at the end of it, Joanne said, that makes perfect sense, which tells you how good a theory it was that somehow leanne teaching miranda to do a dance yeah was evidence that she was covering up for the fact that she had just murdered somebody yeah but it's why i mean even oj didn't do that even oj didn't go go on miranda let's twerk yeah it was yes it's it's so far removed from something that's a a good traitor would do and be even further removed from what leanne would do that it's it beggars belief and as i say if you finish your sentence and joanne says yeah that makes perfect sense you're like oh god i've got to i have to start again yeah he is instinctive he

10:04has the he has an instinct that then just goes wrong at the last minute. He has a useful instinct, though. It is a very useful thing to have. I suspect, by the way, if he hadn't got a shield, which we will talk about, he might have been in trouble. I keep thinking he's the perfect murder victim for the traitors. He can't keep it down now. He says things all the time, and he knows he has to. Exactly. But he can't stop doing it. Yeah, exactly. He's becoming his own worst enemy. And he knows you can't play the game another way. You have to at some point start doing stuff. And that's what he's doing. And that immediately makes him dangerous, I think, because of his status. Yes, everyone's being forced into some sort of a move.

10:39That was becoming clearer. The mission, the traitor's lair, I really like this purely because of how exposing it was of the traitors and how much came out from that and i mean obviously it led to other sort of plot lines and miranda and joanna and the floorboards and all of this stuff but my god i mean by the way kenny and maya who are absolute natives to this era of television yeah are so good in their diary room, you know, where they're doing that sort of interstitial stuff. What are they called again? Myths. Master interviews. Their master interviews are the best in the series, really. I mean, because they know exactly what they're supposed to do. And Maya just looking at the camera saying, I mean, when James Acaster just refuses to move because it might be incriminating.

11:23I don't think, I mean, listen, I understand you're between Bash and Michael Sheen. They're not going to hear you lift your blindfold. Yeah. And Maya just looking at the camera going, but wow. I mean, just speechless. Absolutely speechless. Absolutely got away with it. Of course he did. He's James Acaster. Yeah. I'm going to get to the end of the episode and say what I think. But I mean, really. So this task, we talked before. There was a task in the previous one that involved, in the previous setup you traded, that involved a winch and things like that. And I say, before they do these tasks, they are done 50 times by a team. Everyone would go, this looks really hard. I think it might be quite hard for the traitors to sort of build this shield.

12:05So they will test it and test it and test it and go, oh, no, it's pretty easy. They'll work it out eventually because other people will start building their shield. So they will know exactly the pieces that they need. We will turn the lights off like four or five times. It'll be an absolute breeze for the traitors. It'll take them a while, but they will work out how to do it. They'll probably take it in turns to, you know, step across, but they'll work out what pieces are needed for this shield and they will win the thing. This was one of those occasions where the traitors absolutely broke the format because they had zero chance, opportunity, interest in, aptitude for completing this task at any point. And therefore, it was really, really, really fun as a piece of chaos.

12:47I agree. I'll give you 100 quid if Maya Jama understood what she was supposed to be doing. There's no way. Once she put the pieces back in the trough, I think she just hadn't. I know they go through the rules and say, is everyone clear? But no one was. She was not clear on the rules. And the only person who probably could have told her the rules was James, and he was going nowhere. But I think they stole three pieces of shield all entirely from themselves. Yeah. They did not take a single piece of any shield from anyone else. They had three pieces of shield on the thing that was going to make them nine grand, two of which were the same. Yeah, a couple of half-arsed little bits of shield. No attempt to fit together, nothing like no no no it was really i i enjoyed kenny's master interview there when he was talking about the footsteps misdirection

13:36and he was saying you know i was trying to just walk up and down and then that's clever but not maybe not for to help james because I just really absolutely had it. But, okay, so here's the thing that the task really, really showed us. Miranda. So Miranda's role in the task, and it told us a couple of different things. So she's between Joanne and Maya. Yeah. Okay. So a floorboard moves, right? You are between Joanne and Maya, right? You are between two people. Yeah. For the rest of the episode, she concentrated entirely on Joanne. It's a complete, yeah. Not at any point did she think, hold on a minute though, Maya was the other side. Maybe I'll talk to Maya about this. But this game is always full of complete failures of imagination that to the viewer

14:26are like, there's another person right there, but to them, make no sense. But in the moment, exactly. It's built on something else that she thought or she trusts Maya absolutely for reasons we don't yet know. So she absolutely goes in hard on Joanne and it almost cost her later on, before there's a sort of very weird kind of final coda to this whole episode so I thought you know the round table could have come down to Miranda versus Joanne it didn't in the end because people went in a different direction but I would have loved to have seen it if that actually became the re-election of that round table it would have been fascinating And it would have been even more fascinating because sitting across from them is Maya,

15:08who was literally just the other side of it. Who logically, because she is embarrassed about how unbelievably badly they do the task, just thinks, I am a goner. She said she had seven things that she was going to say. To Miranda, and she didn't have to say any of them. Miranda's, oh my goodness, Miranda's way of handling it. As we said, when you get to the stage of the game, you cannot, even though they continue to herd in ridiculous ways, and we'll get to it, you can't sit back. At certain points, unfortunately, you have to make some kind of move. But her decision to say to Joanne in advance, oh, I'm going to have to say some things about you, it's like if someone seems like they're going to attack you

15:49and you sort of try and warn, they will say in self-defence, don't pinch them to warn them. Pinch them like you want to sort of rip their arm off. It is self-defence. But she was sort of like, I'm going to have to say some things about you later. It's like, oh, no, don't do this. By the way, if she'd gone and said that to Maya, it would have been a very different conversation. It would have been very friendly, very gentle. But then Joanne, quite rightly, by the way, because Joanne is a faithful, the second she's being accused by Miranda is going, well, that makes me suspicious of you. And Miranda's like, huh? I don't know why that would make you suspicious of me. I've got a huge crush on Joanne.

16:23But she's a personality type that is going to come out fighting and then will just think attack is the best form of defence. And you can see that. And if you spend any time with her, as in we all have spent time watching her, that was always going to happen. I think Miranda could have perhaps predicted that. She'd either have to save it for the round table or spend the day getting the numbers and then just lay it all on the roundtable. But saying, oh, I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to do this later was not a good strategy. It's not. And then we will get on when we talk about the roundtable, we will get on to debunk gate as well, which feels like doubling down on the incorrect strategy. Only one way to make it worse.

17:01Yeah. After the break, we are going to talk about that roundtable. We're going to talk about who went. We're going to talk about who went. We're going to talk about who's going to go tomorrow. But we're also going to talk about another very unfairly produced person by the end of the episode, Sharon Rooney. Yes. Who turns out to have pulled off one of the greatest coups in faithful history and now looks like she might be being punished for it. So we'll talk about all those things straight after these this episode is brought to you by our friends at lloyds now let's talk about movie con artists who are your absolute, TV and book, my answer is the same. Terms and conditions apply. welcome back everybody to this traitor's reaction episode of the rest is entertainment shall we talk about sharon and i was just about to say can we talk about sharon because she has emerged again now everyone's like she's changed and it's just she's been shy she's got good yeah

20:02she's got really good she's been shy and it's she's been you can see that she's been shy. She's got good. Yeah, she's got really good. She's been shy and you can see that she's been kind of not intimidated, but she's definitely sat back. Yeah, it's a tough room. And she suddenly has emerged as someone with, you know, not brilliant theories, but good theories at the start. And then as it turned, and now, very good theories. Yeah, I mean, she says, look, I love this game. I love this show. Yeah. And the perfume bottle thing, and now, very good theories. Yeah. I mean, she says, look, I love this game. I love this show. Yeah. And the perfume bottle thing, she spotted it was on the wall. And then she sort of kind of goes, huh, hold on a minute.

20:32What if this is the thing that happened? Which never happens in Traitors, where they go, what if the thing, because always with a kidding in plain sight, it's always, yeah, I wonder if it was something to do with the order of words, or I wonder if he had to say a certain word, or I wonder if he brushed up against me. She's going, i wonder if it was something to do with the order of words or i wonder if you had to say a certain word or i wonder if you brushed up against me she's going i wonder if someone sprayed the perfume bottle and that killed ross and you think well i mean i don't know you're and you're absolutely right she calls herself the pound then poirot uh but you can't say pound then poirot without saying poirot yeah she was really good

21:00yeah but it's difficult because she has now sort of announced herself. Everyone is like, you've changed. So to the traitors, she's announced herself as somebody who is unbelievably smart. Yeah. And to the faithfuls, she's announced herself, as we always say in the show, as someone who has done something. Yeah, dangerous. Never do anything. Don't do anything. Actually, Joanne says very early on this show, you've got to play like Goldilocks. Not too big, not too small, just in the middle. So both sides now distrust her purely because she got something unbelievably right. Yes. It's very clever, though. Let's get to the round table. She's got this theory about the perfume bottle. Correct theory.

21:42Yeah, she's all ready to say it at the table, and James Blunt takes it off her and says it for her, which I found a little bit annoying. He was perfume-splaining, I think. He was perfume-splaining. Perfume-splaining by Lotharic. Yeah. For the man in your life. So Miranda then coming to the table and saying, the bouncing floorboard theory, I've now debunked it. It's like she's the Warren Commission and people have been waiting like 30 years for her to say what she thought about the JFK assassination. She goes, I'm very, very aware that out there in the culture, the floorboard theory is rife. I'm tired of sort of seeing conjecture about it. There are many, many articles and op-eds in the newspapers.

22:19I just want to report back on my findings. Boffins, it is debunked. No further questions. But there were further questions. Except from Joanne who said, obviously you've said it now. You know? I mean, you know, there's such an edge to Joanne, which I love. Yes, it's great. Yeah, it's good to see a little bit of that. Yeah. Because there's a lot of things that the celebrities do where you think you're all very, very polite to each other because you're all essentially in the same green rooms and you're all in the, you know, and there is a certain, there's a difference between the celebrity format and the civilian format in that the celebrities are very, you know, they're kind of respectful in a way that

22:53it's much more gloves off. And Joanna plays much more like a civilian like that. She is chaotic, but she plays much more like a civilian, which I enjoy. So from Miranda's perspective, and you know, we've said all the way through this, she's played brilliantly. This is her first off day. And by the way, everybody has an off day in this game. You can't not have an off day. It's impossible. But you'll do something. And because you're feeling sensitive about yourself, which everyone does in that place, you sort of try and make it better and you make it worse. So this is her first bad day. And the key when you have a bad day is to survive the bad day. And in terms of the round table she absolutely did it even though we're in a situation there where you could see

23:29in the edit there wasn't even oh who are the suspects here it's going to be person x person x person x they absolutely didn't do that this time because nobody knew who they were going to vote for so everybody was at risk there if you would stop the tape just before that uh it could have been five and six of them. And because what we know about this cast is that they heard ridiculously. Our producer, Joey, ran the numbers last week, and we'll have to update them for this episode, but I don't think they're going to make them very different. Something like 83% of people just vote with the herd, and all other versions we've seen of it in this country is right down at sort of 60%. It's essentially the sort of numbers that Putin gets in Russian elections.

24:08It really is. Kenny and Bash, that red flag of did you go to the bar or did you not? Kenny is so good. The walking up and down in the task, brilliant. The thing with Bash, and he's not even like sort of, he's just saying, and he's saying it directly to him to say, it's just funny because you said that you were in the bar, then you said you weren't. And Bash, of course, we know it's a slight misspeaking. But just to grasp onto that and work out that that was a thing, work out that's a loose thread that could be pulled. He's really, really good. Yeah, he is slightly surrounded by idiots, but not completely. He'll have to stick with Maya. The thing about being a human being in this world is we are all surrounded by idiots at all times

24:45because we are all idiots and we are them as well I agree but I think it's very you can't really fault how he's playing and it's quite tiresome some bits of it might be quite tiresome but again he will have a bad day yeah he will have one Michael Sheen just suddenly says right we're going to have to keep only the strong can survive at which point Gerry is sort of immediately fingered as, you know, someone who's too iconic, Richard. She's too iconic to survive the story. It was a fascinating point, that, because, again, we have that situation where we say all the time, and everyone who listens to this knows, that there's really no point voting out a traitor most of the time. And certainly now there isn't any point voting out a traitor.

25:24You can never say that on the roundtable table or if you do say it's it's edited out that was the closest you can get and stay in the edit to kind of saying why don't we just get rid of people who are kind of bad faith was emily if they're a traitor so be it but why don't we just get rid of people who are not helping our cause? He essentially said that out loud. It was a dog whistle. Yeah. But it was a whistle. It was brutal. Dogs around the country. Yeah. I find it quite brutal. It was fairly brutal. Kenny at the end, because he's so good at this kind of playing innocent, said, why did everyone vote for Jerry? It's so good. I know. He honestly left that round table with Bash liking him more

26:07and everyone just going, Kenny was the only person who saw through it, really. And having coaxed the line out of Joanne, well, we had to start looking at the more chaotic players. Yeah. So Leanne survived. Again, there was a lot of heat on her. As we said in the first half, the thing about dancing with Miranda. And she said, and again, I felt so bad for her. She just said, I was just trying to do something nice. And she was just trying to do something nice. She's in a castle, you know, with all of these people. Everyone is quite stressed. And she's going, I'll tell you the thing that I can do that is going to make people happy. And it's this. And she would have gone to bed thinking, do you know what?

26:47That was really, really lovely. I really, really enjoyed that. And I really bonded with Miranda. What a nice thing to do. And the next day, as always on the show, don't do anything. No good deed goes unpunished. Why were you teaching Miranda to dance? That's traitor behaviour. Surprising it wasn't actually from Miranda, which would have compounded the bad day. But yes, Miranda was talking to Leanne and Joanne said, oh, you should be a politician, Miranda. Yes, which is the greatest insult. Yeah, really bad. So there was a brief moment in the round table where talk turned to the fact that that perfume bottle was in the library and talking about who was in the library. Okay, so we're at a point here on that round table where we actually have something.

27:27Sharon has come up with a theory that is correct. Sharon is smart. So who was in that room? And it was, I mean, by the way, Maya was in that room, just as she was just the other side of you, Miranda. But it's very, very quickly brushed away by the traitors. And Maya volunteers the list of people who are in the room, in fact. Yeah, which is absolutely the right thing to do. So we go around the table. Once again, not a single vote for a single traitor. No. But, you know, an awful lot of votes for Jerry. We obviously know that Sharon's theory is amazing. Yeah. We also know she's done an amazing job. They can't know that really and i don't think there's evidence where they could really really know for a fact that that

28:10that was a thing you know because there's lots of different ways it could have happened and we've all heard theories before about how someone was killed in plain sight and they were incorrect so you can sort of see why that didn't pay off so actually the key line in that round table was michael just saying i wonder if it's time to start just thinking about who's useful to us as faithfuls that's the that's what led to the uh the jerry tsunami yes we now have to go to the tarot and i have to talk about james acaster this is another difference i believe in the celebrity and civilian version of the game. The civilians would find a way of getting him banished because he doesn't put his weight, he can't be relied on.

28:51They must know now that if push came to shove, he wouldn't defend them. They must think that, they must suspect it. So I think if they were civilians, they would basically put some words out in the day and then they would get him banished at the round table i think that they would literally try and do something the celebrities are very different so why do you think it's different here you know you should play it like it's the mafia you've got a liability you're gonna have to get rid of him but i think the celebrities don't do that because they are all as i said before they're denizens of the same green rooms he has a status as well. Yeah, a big status. I mean, Meyer is sort of the most famous, but in terms of the job and the seniority, there's something about James where they... He is iconic, I agree.

29:35Exactly. And they pay him respect. I thought he played it beautifully because they're, of course, thinking that. They're, of course, thinking, well well we were worried about james and then this thing where he didn't help us at all i think this might be an issue for us but then he listened to them he said i know i know he explained why he didn't want to do it and then when he said in my defense i am now enjoying being a traitor because i liked killing ross kemp i don't think he particularly did no but it was a very very good thing to say he is like when your football team I thought he was keeping the peace for now and I think long term they will not like it I think he's like when your football team

30:12signs a striker and you're desperate for him to be good because he's scored goals in the Dutch league and you're like but what if he just goes on a scoring run and I think they see such potential in him that if they can just sort of put an arm around his shoulder and get him on side he's going to be incredibly useful to them I don't think they see such potential in him that if they can just sort of put an arm around his shoulder and get him on side he's going to be incredibly useful to them I don't think they want to kill him I think they really like him I think they respect him I don't think they like and respect him but he's not any good for their game he would be a tough kill but he is good for

30:38their game because no one's looking at him nobody doesn't play like he's on the team so therefore I mean he does and he doesn't he killed ross kemp and what more do you want to do if i had someone on my team and i asked them to kill ross kemp and they did i'd be like you know a fair absolute fair play that is a that is a hell of a test of loyalty it's never happened by the way but were it to happen i'd be like okay i understand you then didn't take your blindfold off but you did kill ross kemp so i have to give you some props for that. I feel that they should turn on him because he's too much of a liability to them. I don't think he is. I do. I think the one thing he would not do is turn a spotlight on either of them.

31:14I think his objections to being a traitor are moral objections. And I think that he would have the same moral objection to turning on Kenny and Maya. If I was Kenny or Maya, I would not worry about James betraying me. He didn't have a moral compunction to join in the task. No, for sure. But again, when he says this is just a game, he is right. You play it how you want. But I do think that he would not turn on the other two traitors. And I think if I was in that turret, I would believe that. Okay, who should they murder? They've got a choice of three. They've got Miranda, Bash and Romesh. This is a hell of a... Yes, it is. This is a three-way. I dotted around even while we've been talking. Yeah, it's a really, really tricky one.

32:01As I say, if it hadn't been for the shields, I think Michael would have been the one to go. I think that would have been the play there. Because it's a really, really tricky one. As I say, if it hadn't been for the shields, I think Michael would have been the one to go. Yeah. I think that would have been the play there. Because it's quite rare, actually, that you have a normal murder, where you're in the turret and you get to choose between three people. It's been a long time since we've been in that sort of situation. Who will they go for and who should they go for? And should they have put anyone else up there? If you were there, would you have anyone else on your short list? I wonder whether you would kill Leanne

32:26because then it would seem as though, I mean, it's a bit route one, but it might put the suspicion back onto Joanne or even Michael or any of the people who sort of, yeah, I think probably I would have put Leanne in that mix at least. She'd have been in my three for sure. Yeah, I think you can't go for Sharon because she's just come up with a theory that is correct and you don't want people to know that she's come up with a theory that is correct and you don't want people to know she's come up with a theory that is correct yeah but a few people have got shields so they're fishing in quite a small pool joanne james james and michael with the shields so yeah hard to know who else they could have gone for i think probably leanne

32:58for me yeah given we know who they have gone for, Miranda, Bash and Ramesh. I mean, probably Miranda, I think. I think they're not sufficiently threatened by Bash, which they should be, but they're not sufficiently threatened, so they won't. Ramesh, I think he's more useful there because he doesn't have any right ideas. In fact, I think that's to stay out of the theories. So probably Miranda Yes I think that as I was watching them in the turret and seeing just watching the edits Kenny obviously just accused Bash now if they murder Bash of course it doesn't mean good I mean it makes no logical sense that it would have been Kenny who did that but it doesn't need to make logical sense it would mean that

33:42the names Kenny and Bash are something there's a connection there and you know what who wants that. But it doesn't need to make logical sense. It would mean that the names Kenny and Bash are something. There's a connection there. And you know what? Who wants that connection? Given that none of these three are gameplay moves. None of these three are if we murder this person, then that person goes out tomorrow. So what it is is you're trying to undermine the foundations of the faithfuls more than anything else. There's no huge game at play here three big names if any of them go it's a big it's a big deal but they have an equivalence i think the three of them so bash i think kenny would be like i mean honestly i'd rather not if

34:14if it's okay with everyone romesh i think we have the celebrators thing of i mean you want to keep him in yeah you want to keep him in because he has that status and because you know the comics are kind of falling by the wayside a little bit i think you probably want to keep him in you also don't believe him to be a threat because he hasn't said anything credible at any point yeah and with miranda she's too dangerous she's too dangerous there is the slight gameplay move which might work with these faith wars you never know of does that put any kind of target on either joanne or leanne yeah i mean it shouldn't logically but again in the same way had miranda's theory been followed through to its conclusion she thought it could have been the

34:54person on the other side of me maya then you couldn't have done this yeah but since it never appeared to enter imagination that it could have been maya yeah it's interesting that though because maya you could tell was more nervous than we had been shown yeah she said oh my god i had all this stuff and so if you are let's say they murder miranda right yeah if you are a michael sheen or a sharon or someone like that and you say look i know you by the way i understand miranda why did you say the thing was debunked so she goes oh do you know i had the conversation with joanne and i i just felt a bit uncomfortable and i just thought you know was debunked? And she goes, oh, do you know what? I had the conversation with Joanne, and I just felt a bit uncomfortable.

35:25And I just thought, you know, I probably am wrong. So say she goes, and they're thinking, okay, why did Miranda debunk that theory? And Joanne goes, well, she talked to me about it, and I knew I was a faithful. But maybe I was quite combative with her. And they say, well, did she say the same thing to you, Maya? And if she did or if she didn't, Maya becomes a suspect in some way, maybe, if Miranda goes. So maybe Miranda is a danger for Maya in the same way that Bash is a danger to Kenny. I'd risk it. I mean, not much of one. I would risk it here, yeah. Yeah, she's too good, Miranda, I think. Yes. And Romesh. And she started to make moves. Yeah, and she put her head above the parapet. And so there's an element that people might read something yeah into that either way we're losing a big player

36:08from the game so here's a note there are 11 people left six of them six of them have never received a single vote miranda has never seen a single vote sharon has never received a single vote romish has never received a single vote and more importantly none of the traitors have received a single vote. Romesh has never received a single vote. And more importantly, none of the traitors have received a single vote at any point in this game. There are not many people left. If you are three out of 11, you're in quite a strong position, especially if nobody suspects you at all. I mean, listen, the reason there's six of them is because of this herding, which is much more pronounced than normal, but it does make the game a very very interesting shape and a shape that is incredibly

36:49in favor of those remaining traitors so this episode farewell lovely ross a task which the production team would have expected something very different to happen which is oh my god perhaps they just need one bit of the shield left and actually they just very quickly worked out they couldn't do it at all so it becomes something different a lovely bit of the shield left. And actually, they just very quickly worked out they couldn't do it at all. So it becomes something different, a lovely bit of chaos. But they will not have been disappointed by how it turned out because it was very exciting. Because it was brilliant. Sharon coming up with one of the all-time great faithful things and then being blamed for it.

37:16And now, Jerry going. But, I mean, that was going to happen at some point. And now we have these three big names up for grabs. It's getting interesting now. It's getting close. We are approaching the business end of it, Richard. I mean, we really are, especially tomorrow. If two more people go tomorrow, the numbers are very, very low. We're only two episodes from the end at that point. It's good momentum now because, you know, in those early episodes where sometimes you lose one or even none because of the way the cliffhangers have been structured, now it's going on at quite a lick. Do you see an alliance of faithfuls who might be able to overcome this trade? Because this trade to block is now,

37:49it's gone from very, very weak to very, very strong because of Maya and Kenny. Is there a group of traders like, can James Blunt and Michael Sheen team up? I mean, they can't team up with Miranda, maybe if she goes, but I don't see any sort of alliance there. All the good alliances, Bella and Bash, all of these alliances have gone. Bella, Bash and Kenny, for various reasons, that's gone. There doesn't seem to be a kind of rump of this faithful who are going to get it together to really find their way into this game. Joanne, Romesh, I mean, who is there to lead the charge? I mean, yes, Michael Sheen, James Blunt. I can't. James Blunt's wrong about everything, bless him. So I just can't. But you can be wrong about it, as we know.

38:31You can be wrong about everything and get all the way to the final very easily. But he has been voted for, James Blunt, and he could so easily be the sacrificial lamb of tomorrow even. We just don't know. It feels to me, and you never know with traitors, it feels to me if I was Maya and Kenny, I'd be in a very, very, very, very strong position. I agree with that. At the moment, because we are not far from the end and nobody, nobody's building up a head of steam to work them out. We'll see what happens tomorrow, I guess. Let's see what happens tomorrow. We're going to do another one of these, aren't we? Oh, for sure. For sure we are. We will be here tomorrow. after episode eight see you then bye
