Answered from A Private Matter, Episode 3 · Bear Brook · 2026-10-28

Public documents show Jay Hickey and Patty sold the 119-acre farm and its three-bed, one-bath house in September 2022 to a neighbor's adult children for $268,700, with a life estate letting the couple live there until death. Patty told police the buyers also paid off the mortgage and made monthly payments, putting the total nearer $450,000.
