Question

Why does Jimmy Carr say food is getting scarcer in France?

Answered from #2571 - Jimmy Carr · The Joe Rogan Experience · 2026-10-28

Jimmy Carr told Joe Rogan that food consumption in France is down 6% this year. He blames fertilizer not getting out of the Middle East and a missed planting season, not weight-loss drugs. He says rice is up 70% and wheat 40%, and that the poorest 10 to 20% of people are missing meals. He tied this to the 2018 Yellow Jackets protests over fuel prices. Carr pointed out that ammonia fertilizer made with petrochemicals feeds 48% of the world's population.
