Question

What did Frank Armani do in the Buried Bodies case, as told on Radiolab?

Answered from The Buried Bodies Case · Radiolab · 2026-10-30

Frank Armani, a Syracuse lawyer appointed to defend Robert Garrow in 1973, learned from his client that Garrow had killed two missing young women, Susan Petz and Alicia Hauck. Armani and co-counsel Francis Belge went to the places Garrow described and confirmed the bodies, with Armani lowered into a mine air vent near Mineville. They then told no one, treating the information as a client confidence, until it came out at Garrow's 1974 trial.
