Question

What does Chris Williamson say about the arrival fallacy and hollow success?

Answered from Expelled, Arrested & Somehow Winning At Life - James Smith - #1170 · Modern Wisdom · 2026-10-31

Chris Williamson said many people now reach the goals society promised would satisfy them and find the itch remains, the idea behind the arrival fallacy his first Australian live show was built on. He sees three responses. One is gold medallist syndrome, assuming the dose was too small and chasing a bigger title. Another is railing against a broken system. The third, which he favours, is turning inward to examine the part of yourself that stays dissatisfied whatever you achieve.
