Question

Why haven't we seen an explosion of AI-built apps, according to Steve Huynh and Dimitri?

Answered from What Senior Engineers Are Actually Doing About AI · A Life Engineered · 2026-10-19

Steve Huynh asks why, if code is now 10 to 100 times faster to produce, he still uses the same apps as five years ago. Dimitri suggests AI-built apps may follow the pattern of GeoCities, Squarespace and Wix: millions of small, personal software artifacts that nobody outside a small circle ever hears about. Huynh's example is a friend who vibe coded an app for practising elk calls, which would not exist without AI.
