Did Robert Lewandowski almost join Manchester United under Alex Ferguson?

Robert Lewandowski says the only time he said yes to a Premier League club was in 2012, when Alex Ferguson phoned him. His English was weak and he understood only a few words through the accent, but he agreed anyway. Borussia Dortmund refused to sell, telling him that even a fee of 30 or 40 million could not buy a replacement and that he was worth more to them on the pitch.

Lewandowski said a planned 2010 trip to see an English club was only meant as a look around, not a move.
Lewandowski described Ferguson as the first coach to win everything in the game.
