Question

What does Chris Barnes say about sleep deprivation and unethical behavior at work?

Answered from Do You Have Trouble Sleeping? · Hidden Brain · 2026-10-19

Chris Barnes says sleep loss weakens the self-control people use to resist everyday workplace temptations such as cutting corners, telling small lies or taking credit for a colleague's work. His studies show the same person behaving more or less ethically on different days depending on how they slept. Short sleep also lowers moral awareness, so people fail to notice that a decision has a moral side at all. Even one lost hour can matter, he says.
